Twitter and FB campaign to buy, save and preserve this historic RAF Scampton base, home of 617 Dambusters and base of the Red Arrows. - Facebook #saveredsbase.
We are grateful for the publicity in the @DailyMailUK last night and would like to reiterate, we know RAF Scampton is closing and the MOD no longer wishes to fund it, our aim is to purchase it, preserve it as a living working museum and charitable trust. See details below.
@KemiBadenoch What a pity you weren't interested in #RAFScampton when they announced its' closure and we tried to save it... and subsequently turn it into a living working museum... not for profit! @BBCLookNorth
Excuse me using this account but my own has been temporarily blocked for what reason I have no idea @wearesiam - so I post this here
Pity our politicians do not sacrifice for this country instead of taking... #KeirStarmer time to set an example!!!!

My treasured photo of our Lancaster taken a couple of years ago when she flew over RAF Fiskerton in the late sun... Our Golden plane - up today!
What is going on here?
Something funny. When it was decided to sell the first rule of thumb is that the local council get first refusal so #SaveScampton never got a look in. @WestLindseyDC did a deal with Scampton Holdings, which wasn't fair anyway, now this! @peter_levy

It's madness that the Home Office are putting Scampton on the open market when we have a funded regeneration plan ready to go.
They're just trying to cover their tracks because they wasted £64 million and three years trying to house migrants there.

What about the £60M spent so far, that could have been used to convert it into a historic site of importance and as living working museum instead of being sold off no doubt for a pittance for commercial use.
