Ditch Daylight Saving Time. Permanent Standard Time lets us sleep later for health, mood, safety, education, economy, environment. We’re a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.
Most Americans wake by alarm at or before 6:30am. Daylight Saving Time is making us wake in darkness. Permanent Standard Time would let us sleep past dawn.
No! Massachusetts longitude fits entirely within the ideal boundaries of Eastern Standard Time. Atlantic Time (a trick to implement permanent Daylight Saving Time) would put MA sunrise past 8am more than two months, to nearly 8:30am. Morning is when light is most essential.
Should Massachusetts switch to the Atlantic Time Zone year-round?
The case for it: later winter sunsets, no more changing the clocks, more daylight after work and school, and potentially more time for shopping and outdoor activities.
Would you support it?
