Ditch Daylight Saving Time. Permanent Standard Time lets us sleep later for health, mood, safety, education, economy, environment. We’re a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.
The Sunshine Protection Act can’t create “more sunshine”—it would instead force millions of Americans to start school and work in pitch darkness all winter, which costs lives and business when last tried. Amend to permanent Standard Time!
@SenRickScott Wrong. More people want standard time. Standard time is safer and healthier. Read the studies. Plenty of them are available.

@WhiteHouse@POTUS Mr. President, you are a very intelligent man and world leader. As a scientist and fellow medical provider, it’s vital to follow the science and human biology. I encourage the move to permanent Standard Time to be passed into law.
“While those who want permanent DST say schools should just start later, school officials and advocates for pushing class times back acknowledge a large number of obstacles prevent hearing that first bell even an hour later…” #DitchDST#StartSchoolLater https://t.co/AWWktwzDGC
“Kids might be k☠️lled, but that’s insignificant. We’re talking about $4 billion.” —The Daylight Savings Time Coalition, arguing for extension of DST, on this day in 1985.
Standard Time is closer to sundial (solar) time. Solar noon is when the sun reaches its highest point. Standard Time zones are set so clock noon roughly matches mean solar noon on the zone’s central meridian. Daylight Saving Time simply advances clocks by one hour, so clock noon then occurs about an hour after true solar noon.
