🚨 🇮🇳 BREAKING: Air India flight AI171 has crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 242 people — including 169 Indians, 53 Britons, 7 Portuguese & 1 Canadian national.
Mayday was declared seconds after takeoff. Videos show black smoke billowing over a residential area.
Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to the victims, their families, and all those affected.
This is an unimaginable tragedy. May the souls of those lost rest in peace, and may the injured find strength and healing.
Tracking the last moments: According to BBC Verify and Flightradar24:
The aircraft took off from runway 23 at 13:38 IST.
It reached only 625 feet (190 meters) before contact was lost.
The flight path ended almost immediately after takeoff.
Videos show impact near a populated area, with a major fire breaking out.
Bodies are still being recovered as fire crews continue rescue efforts.
⚠️ This was not a freak accident. This was systemic failure.
India’s aviation sector has ignored too many red flags:
– Overworked, fatigued crews
– Maintenance lapses
– Weak regulatory oversight
– Endless expansion with no investment in safety
✈️ How many more lives must be lost before safety is prioritized over growth?
📢 We demand a full, independent investigation. Not another internal cover-up.
The world is watching. Lives depend on action, not excuses.

🇮🇩 Indonesia is talking about building 39 new airports.
The real question isn't "Why?"
It's "Who benefits?"
Indonesia already has 257 airports, yet many struggle to attract airlines and passengers. Even aviation experts warn that airports without commercial traffic become financial black holes.
So why is the conversation focused on building even more?
Every new airport means:
💰 Massive land acquisition.
💰 Multi-billion-rupiah construction contracts.
💰 Procurement deals.
💰 Years of government spending.
That's exactly why these projects deserve the highest level of public scrutiny.
Before laying a single new runway, answer these questions:
• Why are existing airports sitting underutilized?
• Why aren't airlines willing to operate there?
• Why isn't the same urgency shown toward strengthening safety oversight, maintenance, air navigation, and regulatory enforcement?
• What independent cost-benefit analysis justifies another 39 airports?
Indonesia doesn't need more ribbon-cutting ceremonies.
It needs an aviation system that is safe, commercially viable, transparent, and accountable.
Build airports because people need them—not because construction projects create opportunities for political headlines and lucrative contracts.
We investigate aviation beyond the headlines—covering safety, infrastructure, policy failures, and accountability.

In a major customs bust at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, customs officials seized 24 foreign origin 24-carat gold biscuits weighing 2,799.3 grams worth approximately Rs 4.26 crore from IndiGo Flight 6E-1478 arriving from Dubai on June 12, 2026. The gold was cleverly concealed inside two pouches wrapped in black plastic tape, hidden within a speaker box in the front lavatory of the aircraft. The smuggling attempt was uncovered with the help of aircraft engineers during a thorough search of the plane. As no person came forward to claim ownership of the seized gold, it was confiscated as unclaimed under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. The manner of concealment points to a well-planned smuggling operation involving an unknown individual.
