Amazing to see the hard work of Associação Mico Leão Dourado and Save the Golden Lion Tamarin showcased on Science Friday! Although the wild population of golden lion tamarins has rebounded, there is much work still to be done. Find out more here: https://t.co/jordDaw5ju
A conservation win. There are now 4,800 golden lion tamarins are now living in the wild.
Carlos Ruiz Miranda, from @uenf, joins us in the restoration efforts that included vaccinating monkeys against yellow fever.

On March 31st the Golden Lion Tamarin Ecological Park was visited by @irmaosmello_rio, brothers who are experienced birdwatchers and photographers. They came to see the park and its rich birdlife.
Saving Golden Lion Tamarins also saves birds!

This past Tuesday a motorist found a collared sloth in southern Brazil. The animal was taken to the Golden Lion Tamarin Ecological Park, run by our partner AMLD. The collared sloth is an endangered animal that only exists in the Atlantic Forest.

Let's hear it for Carnival in Brazil! Last week our partner #AMLD opened their "Monkey Park" in Silva Jardim on Carnival (February 21st) to welcome visitors. There was a carnival atmosphere and children wore golden lion tamarin wigs!

1. 2. 3. 4 crab-eating foxes! The #AMLD camera captured this family, probably a couple and their puppies taking advantage of the safety of the forested overpass to cross the BR-101 highway in southern Brazil.
