The Official Twitter account opposing the @MarstonsPLC @wokingcouncil plan to sell off part of West Byfleet Recreation Ground and relocate the playground.
Delighted to share the news from @AmandaJayneB that #WestByfleet Recreation Ground has now been listed as an Asset of Community Value. This Twitter account will now be winding down, but the community remains vigilant! #SavedWestByfleetRec#JobDone...fornow
Our new collection focuses on a different subject every few months! This months topic is 'Places' covering travel journals, historical accounts and political explorations from all over the world. Pick one up to go on a journey without leaving the comfort of home! #loveyourlibrary
It's official - WBC have just issued a Press Release confirming that Marston's have pulled out of trying to build a pub on our precious Recreation Ground! Well done to everyone who has campaigned and fought so hard to make this happen. So proud of our fabulous community! 🐝🐝🐝
Thank you @AmandaJayneB for the good news that the pub plans have been withdrawn! However we will remain vigilant and be prepared to fight some more for our green spaces, and help others to do so! #SaveOurGreenBelt
Woking Council meeting is discussing a petition not to build on the green belt in Byfleet & West Byfleet. Residents are concerned about amount of green belt land under threat. I’ve highlighted pressure on infrastructure - particularly Parvis Road - and impact on flood plain.
So please tell us EXACTLY why building homes on the Green Belt is necessary and where EXACTLY “exceptional circumstances” exist?
This is more than a temporary reduction in demand for Homes.
