Save Mau Forest Initiative is soon documenting such crucial steps
#Sustainability#Agraecology
Save Mau Forest Initiative is stepping up efforts to restore degraded riverbanks along River Njoro and River Rongai. Through restoration, tree planting, and community action, we aim to reduce erosion, improve water quality, and protect these vital rivers for future generations.
This river was once thriving & functional water source. Unchecked cultivation along its banks has caused severe erosion, with soil & fertilizers being washed into river during rains. The blocked culvert is a clear warning of the consequences of degrading our riparian ecosystems.

Elders play a vital role in environmental conservation by sharing their invaluable indigenous knowledge and wisdom. Their guidance helps us better understand and protect our natural resources. Their involvement is a great asset to our efforts...
With the successful launch behind us, we now turn our focus to the work ahead. Together, we are committed to restoring the beauty and ecological importance of the Mau Forest through tree planting, conservation, and community action.
The launch is just the beginning. Now, the real work begins as we unite to protect, restore, and preserve the Mau Forest.
Together, we can make a lasting impact. π³π

As wildlife and motorists share this important corridor, the risk of accidents remains high. We call for fencing and other wildlife safety measures along the KiptagichβSilibwet road to protect both human lives and the animals that depend on the Mau Forest ecosystem. #SaveMau
The tarmac road connecting Kiptagich and Silibwet cuts through the heart of the Mau Forest, Kenyaβs largest water tower and a vital wildlife habitat. Night travelers often encounter elephants and other wild animals crossing the road, a reminder of the forestβs rich biodiversity.
π Indigenous youth are taking the lead in restoring the Mau Forest. Through community engagement and tree planting, we are building a future where thriving communities and healthy ecosystems go hand in hand.
