@spanglermt@jwsherrod@elimcgowan These are the Lord’s Words. This is His judgement, and we see it today with abortion, and with Christian and heathen massacres in times past. I pray you are not desirous of Cyrus and Darius to lead the “Christian” Team into St. Bartholemew’s Massacre 2.0.
@jetbrane Well if you loathe natural law, that certainly sets precedent for abandoning the arbitrary. So that’s good, and goes against being pietist.
I suppose I don’t know what flavor you are then as the current pundits are flooded with NL nonsense.
@jetbrane Well, that is the historical epistemics that many of the CN spokespersons are grounding their logic on.
Seems questionable, and I believe it would be more apt to label such men as pietists. The Dutch (and Scots later on) did some very odd things that sync with pietist movements.
@jetbrane Ok.
Wolfe also argues by implication that “violent revolution” is justified by an “extreme level of soft [psychological, woke, etc] tyranny.”
Would you be on board with this? Is it lawful, and how would Scripture justify it?
@jetbrane Fair enough. Apologies.
On what grounds do you disentangle yourself from the arbitrary nature of this movement? Is there an actual authority on the subject in your view, or is it just that whoever gets the title of Christian Caesar first gets to establish it dogmatically?
@jetbrane Ah
See that’s where Westminster better excels. I don’t draw from or read those men. Natural Law epistemics is wholly unhelpful despite the other good things those men stay.
Elaborating further as to the intelligibility of your accusation would be helpful.
@jetbrane I don’t believe you know what a pietist is.
Yes, yes. According to you I am and by what so-called intelligent metric you reach that conclusion with I have no idea.
But do me a favor and read the Dutch just to double check.
@jetbrane@spanglermt@_BenLee Agreed. I sing them gladly. The Lord will indeed judge. I long for the day my hatred is without sin and presumption.
And may He deal harshly with me should I be so presumptuous that I confuse my own will-to-power with His righteous and eternal decree.
To have and show partiality towards persons in judgement reveals that we are desperate fools, and arbitrarily unjust to all except ourselves and our own twisted affections.
Proverbs 24:23
May we all repent of such things and guard our hearts against OUR deviant will-to-power.
@Eggos_Dad@spanglermt@_BenLee Sure, and it is another thing to say that we have it and that it is purely and properly directed in the way that God prescribes.
It can also be tempting to presume Spirit has enabled us unto that end rightly as Christians. Proverbs 24:17-22. Partiality toward oneself is deadly.
@spanglermt@_BenLee I believe this is best understood as Christ speaking (He did sing the Psalms after all) for a pure hatred is only something that He, indeed, could attain.
It is easy to excuse our fickle emotionality with these verses. We must rest in the Lord’s vengeful judgement, not our own.
@redeemed_zoomer I doubt he had issue with Revelation 18:3-6 and it’s implications when required. Your arguments would make a lot more sense if you were PCA.
