Texas Children’s Hospital is set to become the nation's first “detransition clinic” after a sweeping settlement between the hospital and Texas following whistleblower claims about the hospital's transgender surgical practices.

Under the agreement, the hospital has 90 days to open the clinic and must provide free detransition care for five years to patients who previously received gender-transition care.

Texas Children’s will also pay $10 million, with more than $8 million going to the state, to resolve claims they billed Texas Medicaid for illegal "gender-transition" interventions. $1.7 million will also go to whistleblower Vanessa Sivadge.

The settlement also requires the hospital to revoke the privileges of five doctors associated or previously associated with the hospital.

“This historic settlement is a resounding defeat for the radical gender ideology that has preyed on Texas children under the guise of ‘care,’” Attorney General Ken Paxton said.

When I spoke about abuse in gymnastics in 2008, people said I was a liar and a grifter and shitty gymnast even though I'd been a national champion. (Not sure why that would matter if I was shitty -- do shitty gymnasts deserve abuse? And I've said repeatedly I was the worst national champion that ever was so you're not hurting my feelings to say it.)

Then Dominique Moceanu spoke out a year later, an Olympic gold medalist, and they called her a grifter and a liar and an unwell person and an ungrateful former gymnast. The naysayers couldn't say she was a crap gymnast, she had a gold medal. So they went another route.

It wasn't until 2016-2018 that the cascade of Olympians spoke out.

And then everyone knew it was true.

When the trolls can't address your argument they call you names.

We are seeing this now in real time.

@Riley_Gaines_ spoke about men in women's sports in 2022. "You suck, you were 5th place."

Then Sophie Cunningham spoke in July and she is a grifter MAGA Barbie and bench player (with a firm grip on reality).

I'm not backing down from this one.

You can support people's rights AND believe biological men shouldn't compete in women's sports. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

My issue isn't hate. It's protecting women, protecting girls, and asking why a WNBA coach chose to inject herself into a controversy that could hurt the very league she's supposed to represent.

Common sense still matters. That's where I stand.

A Nashville TN police officer is being hailed as a hero for talking a man off the edge of a bridge... not with force or with tactics... but with a hug, and four words:

"I love you, bro."

Bodycam caught the ENTIRE thing.

The man stepped back from the edge and broke down in tears, hugging him. ❤️

His name is Lieutenant Mike Hotz of the Metro Nashville Police Department.

On July 23rd, a man stood on the edge of the Victory Memorial Bridge above the Cumberland River, livestreaming, saying he planned to jump.

Lt. Hotz didn't rush him.

He walked up calm and said: "Hey man, my name's Mike. Can I just holler at you?"

No demands.
No lectures.
Just two human beings talking.

"I just want to help you talk through this... this worst day of your life."

Here's what most people don't know:

Mike Hotz is a COMBAT VETERAN.

He says he's lost count of the brothers he served with overseas who battled suicidal thoughts. He wasn't reading from a script. He KNEW that pain.

The man cried. Several times.

Then Hotz made him a promise: "I'm not gonna try nothing crazy. I promise you to the Lord himself. Can I shake your hand?"

The man took his hand.

He stepped away from the edge.

And that handshake became a HUG.

"We're here to love you, bro. We're here to love you. I love you."

And when it was over, when the man was safe with counselors, Hotz quietly stepped away from everyone... and PRAYED. He thanked God for putting him in the right place at the right time.

This same officer built Nashville's ONEbox program, putting overdose reversal kits in 500+ locations across the city. The DEA just honored him for it.

Saving lives isn't what he does. It's who he IS.

His message to all of us: have the uncomfortable conversations. Ask people how they're REALLY doing.

What has Cathy Engelbert’s WNBA taught us this season?

Apparently…

1. Players can be shown discussing a wager on a WNBA game... as long as the league calls it “lighthearted,” deletes the evidence and handles everything behind closed doors. The league’s own account published the content, yet its statement somehow became another lecture directed at the players.

2. A player can be throat punched while the ball is dead, but expecting the officials to recognize what happened in real time is apparently asking too much.

3. The commissioner can fail to appear for a scheduled interview and still demand accountability, professionalism and transparency from everyone beneath her.

4. Caitlin Clark can receive technical fouls for clapping or pointing toward the scoreboard while comparable... or substantially worse... behavior from other players is routinely treated as personality, passion or competitive fire.

5. Inflammatory rhetoric is condemned selectively. The league discovers moral urgency when the target fits its preferred narrative, but suddenly develops selective hearing when hostility is directed toward the people it considers culturally expendable.

6. Contracts and roster commitments are apparently binding only until personal preferences, preferred destinations and league politics make them inconvenient.

7. Players can turn the league’s premier showcase into a vulgar, alcohol-soaked spectacle, and the same institution that lectures fans about respect will market the weekend as culture.

8. Fans can purchase access to an advertised player appearance, wait in line and leave empty-handed when the players fail to appear... with little public explanation and even less accountability.

9. A team owner can confront and curse at teenage girls for peacefully supporting a player, reducing one of them to tears, and the league will respond only after the incident becomes a public-relations disaster.

10. A fan can spit in another person’s face, but concern for fan safety appears to depend heavily upon whose jersey the victim is wearing.
