Hot take but I think the response to this would be better if it wasnt straight to victim mode and was instead "yes you can buy these cheaper, however we sell these with a markup and directly at cons as a SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME to help keep our small furry business alive"
This company is selling these ebadges for $35 meanwhile you can buy the SAME exact ones for $5 on Aliexpress. The only difference is their logo being on the back. Do not fall for these scams. There is nothing special about the ones this company is selling.
Well it was fun supporting your app @discord, but my nitro has finally expired. While it was useful for sending big pictures and videos to friends, and then spamming them with custom emotes and stickers, I likely won’t be touching it again.
I wasn’t phased too much with the facial scanning bs that you pulled mainly because when I’m making my stupid posts online, I’m staring at a smartphone that was designed in the last 10 years.
What peeved me was the “need” for you to see my government issued ID. I use that ID to open a bank account, I use that ID to pay for car registration, I use that ID to purchase firearms and ammunition. I SHOULDN’T need that ID just to post shitposts amongst my friends. And definitely will never give that ID to a third party who you have chosen to do your work for you. Third parties that; so far, have a 100% failure rate at keeping that information safe.
Until I get 100% confirmation that your company will never seek to gather people’s ID’s to use your platform, you will never be receiving another cent from me. That money will be getting used elsewhere.
Ps:
Also putting this here before the chuds come waltzing in dropping the ripped lion/chad dude memes saying “I showed you, you will fail now 🤓”, you’re missing the point. This was just a public venting of my opinions on the decisions; a company I frequently use their products of, has done. Will they listen and implement a policy of never seeking ID’s in the future? Considering it’s a thing being pushed by some governments around the world (including my own 🙃), no.
To me, digital ID’s and using ID’s to control access to things on the internet goes against what the internet was designed to do. It was supposed to be a place of freedom, somewhere you could find people of similar interests across the world, a place where information was to be right at your fingertips. And thanks to a bunch of parents being; for lack of a better words; fucking poor examples of parents, the world is being dragged closer to the draconian controls that China implements on people inside their borders. A place where making a joke about the current seated president or member of parliament can land you several months in a jail cell.
That’s not the world I grew up with, and I hate watching it turn into that. If you can, vote those who implement these controls out, do so to protect your freedom. It only takes an election for tyranny to take hold of your life.
@gamutfeathers Random question but what are your load times like? Is the game installed on an SSD or HDD? What COULD be happening is if the game is installed on a slow storage device, the game is taking a long time to load the match and assets while already placing you in game with everyone
Seriously though if you're learning to model and texture and want advice on what you've made, PLEASE ask questions! Learning to make stuff is awesome and there are so many people who know so much and are willing to help and offer advice.
Rant time but slightly related. It baffles me that an avatar author can have a gumroad page full of avatars and a busy discord server and yet they do not understand basic mesh optimisation or space utilising UVs. How does no one say anything??
How can it be that an avatar comes out with a lot of clipping issues / bugs when a creator has like 50-100 promoters/testers?
Are people to afraid to let the avi creator know?
And I don't talk about small ones. I talk about very obvious clipping like legit holes etc.
I get handed assets/avis for working on all the time and I squint at them wondering what the fuck happened and how this is their 10th paid asset/Avi.
First time? Fair enough! Everyone needs to learn and grow and that's GOOD. But charging $30 for a mess of polygons.. cmon man
