So with this bit of information, we can deduct that a large portion of the development of this game could already be done.

Obsidian likely already has a story they want to tell in the Fallout universe, streamlining that bit of production.

My perfect scenario is taking the Creation Engine 2 from Starfield, start grabbing assets from Fallout 4 like they did with Fallout 3 when they made New Vegas, of course they then add on to the assets with their own, like New Vegas.

The setting is New Orleans and you can literally just call it Fallout: New Orleans. The name goes with Fallout: New Vegas and calls back to that title while introducing the area the game is set in and furthers the fact that is a spin off.

Again, this is my dream scenario, I will be happy with what we get, but its very interesting to note that Obsidian has stuff ready to go for this.

Their turn around is spectacular too.

We could see this Fallout game before the Elder Scrolls VI.

Reminder Obsidian took just 18 months - from concept to completion - to recycle a game engine, build a whole wasteland in it with recycled assets, add a full coherent Reputation system to it, massively improve the skills and perks system, add traits, and still had time to write a narratively deeper base game and 4 narratively deeper DLCs and with some of the best-written stories and characters in the entire genre, thus creating what is widely regarded as the best entry in the entire series.

The lesson?

RPG players couldn’t give a shit if the engine is brand new and got “Way Twacing” and all the bell and whistles or not, so long as it’s immersive, maximises choice, and feels faithful to the IP. And that doesn’t take 15 fucking years.

Parece que la noticia se confirma: Gaspi ha fallecido hoy. Una tragedia absoluta.

Tuve la suerte de que Gaspar me eligiera para la primera vez en su vida en la que iba a mostrar en internet a la persona, no al personaje. Y ahí vimos a un chico joven, introvertido, tímido, bohemio y profundamente artista; alguien con un mundo interior riquísimo, en las antípodas de su personaje online.

Estuvimos charlando dentro y fuera de cámaras, y me pareció una persona increíble. Es una auténtica tragedia que alguien así, con tanto futuro por delante, se nos vaya tan pronto.

Mis condolencias a su familia y amigos cercanos, así como a las familias de las otras personas fallecidas. Todo mi cariño y mi amor para ellos en unos días tan duros.

El legado de Gaspi quedará. 🪽
