Less frequently heard are: 1. Overwhelming assumption that if there is a Primary Carer, it should be the mother and 2. Related to Athelbrae’s point: Machismo means it is harder for males to decline to take over.

@Nigel_Farage She got 52% of the vote on a 99.5% turnout = 51% of the possible vote - an overall majority. Compares with 52% of the vote on a 72% turnout for Brexit = 37.4% of the total voters. Sounds to me like she has considerably more legitimacy!
