On July 22, two days after @DelhiPolice fired pellet guns at @Cockroachisback protestors demanding the resignation of the Education Minister, our Ex-MP @SaketGokhale filed RTI applications with the Delhi hospitals where the injured protesters were taken.
The RTI responses show that several protesters sustained pellet injuries - something @AmitShah’s police had initially denied.
In fact, the Congress party’s FIR would not have been possible without the evidence brought to light through @AITCofficial’s RTI.
Trinamool stands firmly with the students and remains committed to their cause. We will continue to pursue the truth, demand accountability and stand with every student fighting for justice.
AND IT STARTS!
Didn’t @BJP4Bengal make tall promises about making #Bengal “SAFE FOR WOMEN”???
Not even a month in, their hollow slogans stand COMPLETELY EXPOSED.
Is this the so-called “Nari Suraksha” BJP promised?
Where are the self-proclaimed guardians of women’s safety now?
Will they march on the streets demanding justice, or does their outrage depend solely on WHO IS IN POWER?
A crime this monstrous demands the STRICTEST punishment for every culprit involved. Will the CM act now?
Women’s safety cannot be reduced to election propaganda and empty speeches!

We have fought an extremely difficult election where nearly 30 lakh genuine voters were allegedly disenfranchised from the electoral rolls. Throughout this entire process, we witnessed what we believe was deeply partisan conduct by several government agencies as well as the Election Commission of India.
Democratic institutions that are meant to function impartially appeared compromised, raising serious concerns about the fairness, credibility and transparency of the electoral process in West Bengal.
From the counting process to allegations surrounding the handling and movement of EVMs, Mismatch of Control Units, several disturbing incidents have left millions of people questioning whether the true mandate of the people has been respected. I have already demanded the release of CCTV FOOTAGE FROM THE COUNTING CENTRES and a transparent counting of VVPAT slips so that the truth can come before the people and every doubt can be addressed openly and honestly.
Democracy can only survive when electoral institutions inspire trust and confidence among citizens. Unfortunately, what we have witnessed has deeply shaken that trust.
At the same time, reports of post-poll violence, attacks on party offices, intimidation of our party workers and threats against supporters are deeply alarming and unacceptable in a democratic society. Many dedicated Trinamool workers and supporters who fought tirelessly on the ground have allegedly faced targeted attacks and have been forced to flee their homes out of fear and insecurity. No political worker in a democracy should ever have to choose between their safety and their political beliefs.
Keeping the democratic traditions of this great nation above everything else, my colleagues and I in the Trinamool Congress will continue to stand firmly with the people of West Bengal and with every Trinamool worker who fought tooth and nail against what we believe was a compromised electoral machinery.
We will continue to be a strong, vocal and uncompromising opposition both in Delhi and WB.
Under the guidance and leadership of Mamata Banerjee, our fight for democracy, constitutional values and the rights and dignity of the people will continue without fear and without compromise.
I urge every Trinamool supporter and worker to stay strong and united during this difficult time. If anyone has been subjected to post-poll violence, intimidation, or threats, I request them to reach out and share their details with me or DM me. I will do everything within my capacity to ensure their safety and security and pursue every available legal and democratic remedy. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with every Trinamool worker and supporter in this fight to ensure that truth prevails and that both governments now work genuinely in the interests of the people of West Bengal.
Jai Bangla!
Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
To empower Bengal’s youth in defending the state’s identity with reasoned arguments, verified facts, and solid data, Shri @abhishekaitc has launched a people-powered digital movement.
‘Ami Banglar Digital Joddha’ has quickly captured headlines nationwide, inspiring young minds to rise as the vanguard of Bengal’s digital presence.
It aims to nurture a generation that engages thoughtfully, counters misinformation decisively, and projects Bengal’s pride, heritage, and achievements to every corner of the country and the world.

It is unfortunate and deeply concerning that the Prime Minister of India has chosen to politicise a natural disaster without waiting for a proper investigation, especially while people in North Bengal are grappling with the aftermath of devastating floods and landslides.
When the entire local administration and police is engrossed in relief and rescue operations, the BJP leaders chose to go to the affected areas with a large convoy of cars and under security cover of the central forces and that too without any information to local police and administration. How can the state administration , local police or the TMC be blamed for the incident ?
The PM has blamed the TMC and the West Bengal Government outright without a shred of verified evidence, legal inquiry, or administrative report. This is not just a political low, it is a breach of the constitutional ethos the Prime Minister has sworn to uphold. In any democracy, the law must take its own course, and only due process can determine culpability - not a tweet from a political pulpit.
The incident occurred in a constituency where the people themselves have elected a BJP MLA. Yet the Prime Minister sees no contradiction in painting the incident as a reflection of TMC’s so-called “strongmanship.” Such sweeping, unsubstantiated generalisations are not only immature, but also, they are unbecoming of the highest office in the land.
Coming from a Prime Minister who visited Manipur only 964 days after it was engulfed in ethnic violence, the sudden concern for Bengal appears less like empathy and more like opportunistic political theatre.
Yes, we all condemn violence, unequivocally. But this is not the time for partisan chest-thumping. This is a time to help and heal.
It’s also evident that BJP is resorting to the tired North Bengal vs South Bengal narrative, hoping to polarise people ahead of elections. Let us be clear: Bengal is one - emotionally, culturally, and politically.
I urge the Prime Minister: Listen to the elected state government, not just your party colleagues. You are the Prime Minister of India, not just of BJP. Your responsibility lies in nation-building, not narrative-building.
At this critical hour, let us not deepen divides. Let us stand united beyond party lines, to serve the people who need us the most. Let’s leave politics for another day.
It is with deep anguish that I learn of the devastation caused by incessant rainfall and landslides in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and parts of Jalpaiguri, leading to tragic loss of lives. Mirik, Jorebunglow Sukhiapokhri and Falakata have borne the heaviest brunt of this calamity.
My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Relief and rescue efforts are underway, with the State Disaster Management Department, the Darjeeling district administration and local volunteers working tirelessly on the ground.
To everyone affected, please know that you are not alone in this difficult time. I appeal to every @AITCofficial volunteer to reach out, support and assist the affected with compassion and commitment. With collective resolve and Maa Durga’s blessings, we will overcome this adversity, together.
Bangla Sahayata Kendras (BSKs) have reached a significant milestone, crossing ₹1,000 crore in service delivery transactions through their e-Wallet, within a short time.
This milestone underscores the growing public trust in the BSKs' digital platform and highlights the efficiency and transparency of West Bengal's digital public service delivery model.
The BSKs facilitate thousands of departmental services daily, ranging from scholarships and certificates to health and housing services, all processed seamlessly through their digital infrastructure.
This initiative is a testament to "Digital Bangla in action," actively empowering citizens, reducing accessibility barriers, and fostering an inclusive governance model.
The achievement is a result of the collective efforts of every BSK operator and the dedicated teams supporting them. My heartiest congratulations to all of them.
It has been over 55 DAYS since the PAHALGAM terror attack. It is deeply concerning that in a democracy neither the mainstream media, members of the opposition, nor the judiciary has stepped forward to raise these five critical questions before the Government of India. However, as a citizen committed to the nation’s well-being and as a public representative entrusted with accountability, I raise these five questions before the Government of India:
🔴 Border Breach and Civilian Casualties:
1. How did four terrorists manage to infiltrate the border and launch an attack that killed 26 innocent civilians? Where is the accountability for this massive breach in national security ?
🔴 Intelligence Failure and IB Chief’s Extension:
2. If this was an intelligence failure, why was the Intelligence Bureau Chief granted a ONE YEAR EXTENSION, that too barely a month after the attack? Why was he REWARDED RATHER THAN HELD ACCOUNTABLE ? WHAT IS THE COMPULSION ?
If the GoI can conveniently use PEGASUS spyware against opposition leaders(including me), journalists and even judges, what stops it from using the same tools against terrorist networks and suspects?
🔴 Status of the Terrorists:
3. Where are the FOUR TERRORIST responsible for this brutal, religion-based massacre? ARE THEY DEAD OR ALIVE ? If they have been neutralized, why has the government failed to make a clear statement? And if they haven’t, WHY IS THE SILENCE ?
🔴 PoJK and the CEASEFIRE COMPROMISE:
4. When will India reclaim Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK)? Why hasn’t the government officially responded to the U.S. President’s claim that he persuaded India into a ceasefire with promises of trade - Just as the nation stood together irrespective of their cast, creed religion and political affinity, celebrating the triumph of righteousness and saluting the valour and sacrifice of our armed forces? WHY WERE THE EMOTIONS OF 140 CRORE INDIANS DISREGARDED?
What led to such a compromise?
🔴 Global Diplomacy and Hypocrisy:
5. After reaching out to 33 COUNTRIES post-Pahalgam in the last one month, how many extended explicit support to India?
If we are truly a VISHWAGURU and the world’s fourth-largest economy, why did the IMF and World Bank approve $1 BILLION and $40 BILLION in financial assistance and long-term investments to PAKISTAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PAHALGAM ATTACK ? How did a nation repeatedly involved in cross-border terrorism not only escape global scrutiny but get rewarded ?
And more shockingly: Why was Pakistan appointed Vice-Chair of the UN Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee barely a month later?
NB: Over ₹2000000000000 (TWO LAKH CRORES) has been spent on external affairs over the past 10 years. The Indian public deserves transparency, accountability and results- NOT SILENCE AND SPIN!
THE NATION AWAITS A RESPONSE!

Given the harrowing statistic of a RAPE EVERY 15 MINUTES, the demand for a COMPREHENSIVE TIME-BOUND ANTI-RAPE LAW is more pressing than ever. BENGAL is leading the charge with its ANTI-RAPE BILL. The Union must now take decisive action - whether by ordinance or BNSS amendment in the upcoming parliament session to ensure that justice is both swift and severe, with TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS concluded in 50 DAYS.
#BengalShowsTheWay
The hooliganism and vandalism at RG Kar tonight have exceeded all acceptable limits. As a public representative, I just spoke with @CPKolkata , urging him to ensure that every individual responsible for today’s violence is identified, held accountable, and made to face the law within the next 24 hours, regardless of their political affiliations. The demands of the protesting doctors are fair and justified. This is the minimum they should expect from the government. Their safety and security must be prioritized.
