Working on Journal #5, and I am having trouble being motivate to write it/ do school work in general. I think I'm just looking forward to the end of semester.
#lesson11 when I watch Aladdin as a kid, I honestly thought that there was places where they would cut of your hand for stealing. it never occurred to me to question what was being shown :(
Growing up in a small town, where there was not really anybody from different ethnicities, most of my exposure before the age of 13 of other ethnicities was from pop-culture and movies.
I totally thought the matchmaking interview scene from Mulan was a real thing that happened in the past and only realize it wasn't while watching the documentary #lesson10
While reading the required reading for @lesson10, I couldn't help associating some the responses the author was discussing to American/Canadian culture, and how some people are still victim blaming
@KristieDawn3 I had trouble with this at the beginning, trying to read what other people wrote so i don't repeat. but now i do not worry about it since there are so many and i can not keep track
@JacobRouimi mostly fair, but some of the wording surprised me. like I had not idea what some the answers was referring too. I also got some the same questions I got on the quizzes (one of which I originally got wrong) so I am grateful I reviewed them before taking the midterm.
