@rabitatsalem Steven doesn't have citizenship anyway. He couldn't go to school even if he wanted to.

@Dorwni @AccountMinipry But this situation is mostly limited to the beach city. And the beach city doesn't have a population registry. So the rest of the US probably wouldn't take this as normal. Ultimately, crystal gems mostly live in isolation from humans.

I think Pearl became the closest thing to a mother figure Steven had after Rose. Maybe she also sees Steven as her own son. Yes, every time she looks at him she probably remembers Rose… but aside from that, she might still care for him like a mother would.
