The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has taken note of media reports and a publication attributed to a law firm in Ghana that Mr Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta has been granted permanent residency in the United States resulting from an immigration court finding that it did not find the criminal charges filed by the OSP in Ghana against Mr. Ofori-Atta credible.
The OSP states that it is not involved in immigration hearings in the United States involving Mr. Ofori-Atta. The OSPโs involvement is in respect of extradition proceedings against Mr. Ofori-Atta through the Attorney-General as the central authority.
The OSP states that the extradition packet is not before the immigration court; and the credibility or otherwise of the criminal charges against Mr. Ofori-Atta would be determined by the courts in Ghana, who have jurisdiction to determine his guilt or innocence.
Further, Mr. Ofori-Atta still remains a citizen of Ghana and he is still amenable to be extradited to Ghana if so decided by the extradition court in the United States.
@Khweku_Seth I personally know a 55-year-old man who was only stealing plantain to cook and eat. He comes from a very poor family. When he was caught, he was sentenced to 7 years and 5 months in prison. He had no money, no lawyer, and no one to fight for himโso he remains in jail.
Meanwhile,
@jeho4844 Bro, appealing a sentence is a right, yesโbut what we are seeing in Ghana goes beyond a normal appeal. How can someone be sentenced to 15 years and later walk free with just one year? That kind of thing will not happen in many other countries.
@JusticeSremSai In Ghana right now, it feels like crime is no longer treated fairly. People say that scamming is not considered a serious crime because someone who scams others can be sentenced to 15 years, but later the sentence is reduced to just one year because they have money to pay lawyers
@fatheranthoni words and actions.
The people of Ghana are wiser now. We demand truth, not deception. We demand results, not excuses. We demand leaders who serve, not those who lie.
@fatheranthoni We are not blind.We see the contradictions,the cover-ups, and the empty speeches.Ghana deserves leadership that respects the truth,not one that manipulates it for political gain.If you truly care about this country,itโs time to start being transparent and responsible for your
@fatheranthoni Time and again, you have made promises that were never fulfilled and statements that turned out to be false. Each lie chips away at the trust that citizens have in government. Ghanaโs future depends on honesty, integrity, and accountability values that you seem to have forgotten
@fatheranthoni Bawumia I am writing to express my deep disappointment in the way you have consistently misled the people of Ghana. We deserve leaders who speak the truth, stand by their words, and work for the people โ not those who twist facts to suit their own interests.
@AfiaDimple_ {x + 5} = 8
To solve for x:
1.Square both sides:
x + 5 = 8^2
2.Simplify:
x + 5 = 64
3.Subtract 5 from both sides:
x = 59
โ Final Answer:
x = 59
