@SteveNomadic … to upgrade the fuel switches to locked versions to prevent inadvertent flip of the switches, as well as the FAA/GE issued Service Bulletin FAA-2021-0273-0013 Attachment 2 relating to loss of control issue (also see above) were NOT implemented by Air India.
@SteveNomadic On Jul 12th 2025 (UTC) India's media report that the investigation is NOT focussing on a human action causing the fuel switches to appear in the CUTOFF position, but on a system failure. Service Bulletins by Boeing issued in year 2018 recommending to upgrade the fuel switches…
@n1makonew @beernews24@aviationbrk Again this only just a « guess » of what happened. In aviation there is rarely only one cause leading to such disaster.
To comment on that specific point, the cockpit configuration for flaps and gear is pretty much the same on all aircraft, and incident like that have happened.
@metal00008@beernews24@aviationbrk Depending on the place, the ADS-B datas received by flightradar 24 are not very accurate. For instance on this picture there is no track for the ground movement of the aircraft, and the track during takeoff is barely aligned with the runway.
@beernews24@aviationbrk Most likely the flaps were deployed for takeoff roll otherwise the aircraft would have had issues lifting off the ground. Best guess : the flaps where retracted instead of the gear.
@BearHarbard@thedarkmanu1 Same for the German in basketball today, far from the level they showed during previous games and they’re the only one to blame for that.
