Go Beyond The Grid.

The electric grid we use today was designed by people who knew how to live without electricity.

Scale is working overtime to build resilient microgrids across California.

Large commercial and industrial loads in PG&E should all have behind-the-meter microgrids to help relieve stress on the grid.

[Bloomberg @business]

PG&E said it’s shutting off power to some customers in northern and central California after dry weather and gusty winds elevated the risk of wildfires. https://t.co/MWU7LIS8hX

Walking around without any streetlights makes you realize how amazing electricity must have been at first just for this simple reason.

Power is out at the Knicks training facility. It went out while Josh Hart was answering a question about a possible extension. Lights went out and he finished the answer in the dark.

Valley Transportation Authority is committed to transitioning their fleet to 100% electric buses by 2036.

We’re building them a microgrid that will be lowering their electricity costs by 36%, providing 4+ of backup and lower emissions by 61%

We're excited to welcome David Vickerman as Scale's new Chief Financial Officer!

David brings 25+ years of energy and infrastructure finance experience to the team, including 12 years as CFO for private equity-backed energy infrastructure and power platform companies. Over his career, he has overseen more than $7 billion in financing for new projects, platforms, acquisitions, and divestments.

In his new role, David will lead finance, accounting, and capital markets across both our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Data Center Solutions platforms. He joins at a pivotal moment of rapid growth for Scale, as we pursue billions in new financing to power the next generation of on-site energy.

Welcome to the team, David!

Fun Fact: Santa Barbara is powered by one 40-mile power line through wildfire, earthquake and landslide terrain. Outages there last 2X longer than the rest of SoCal Edison.

That’s why Scale is building a solar + BESS + EV microgrid at Santa Barbara City College to convert it into a Community Resilience Hub that keeps the lights on, phones charger and medical care running when the grid goes down.

This is what community-scale energy security looks like.

☀️⚡️BREAKING:
Brand new 2.8 MW rooftop solar now live in Pennsylvania and projected to produce an insane 3.5M kWh/year.

The best part?

Mid-sized distributed solar projects like this one ease pressure on the grid by adding localized generation capacity where it’s needed and per Aurora Energy Research, could save Pennsylvania residents nearly $1 billion in electricity costs over the next decade by cutting wholesale power costs and buffering against natural gas price swings.

“Commercial real estate companies have a tremendous opportunity to drive energy affordability and reliability for their tenants and the entire grid,” said Kristel Watson, the head of Scale’s Commercial and Industrial business.

Critical infrastructure should have microgrids.

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

@SimonMahan Meanwhile one of our microgrids in PJM generated about $262K total from June 25' - May 26' by supporting the grid.

Excited to see what happens this year

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

@Frank_Stones Fun fact: one of our microgrids in PJM generated a revenue of over $32k with an additional $230K from just being an available resource in the emergency capacity program.

So about $262K total from June 25' - May 26'

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

As you scroll X just remember that…

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

@ErnestScheyder Fun Fact: Our customers in PJM are islanding from the grid during these events to relieve stress on the grid (and helping the common good) and even getting paid for doing so 🔋

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

@newsguyusa TLDR: Microgrids. Microgrids. Microgrids.

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

@interesting_aIl Sure would suck to have a site in PJM without a microgrid right now

[Scale @ScaleMicrogrids]

Nobody builds better microgrids than us.

PJM is on the struggle bus.

New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool.

Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can.

Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.

A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.
