@original_akainu@CheemsNeil Exactly! That's the whole point of the video. ๐ Insert the cartridge, skip the update, and play. No download, no installation.
@CStallion619@CheemsNeil ฮf they eventually work after inserting them several times, that does sound more like a contact/reader issue than anything softrelated. Especially since you've already tried cleaning the contacts and the same thing happens with multiple games.Pokรฉmon Scarletโฆ good riddance ๐ jk
@CStallion619@CheemsNeil Yeah, that's definitely a bummer. ๐ I don't think the Switch 2 cartridges are fundamentally different in terms of durability, but if some of your older Switch cards aren't reading properly, it could be an issue with the contacts, the card reader, or just wear over time.
@youngdawk92 Thatโs fair โ updates have changed what โplug and playโ means. But thereโs a difference between downloading an update and downloading the actual game. In this case, I inserted the cartridge and played without internet or download anything. ๐
@youngdawk92 You might want to watch the whole video before taking a screenshot I didn't download anything โ I inserted the cartridge and played.
Feel free to try it yourself if you can ๐
@ChanzeAzunsolo Soz for english, I do't spk spanish, but, its like you own the physical copy, but not the copyright/IPโyou can't reproduce it and sell copies.wning the physical cartridge doesn't give me the game's intellectual property rights, but that doesn't mean the cartridge is just license.
@ChriGartner@DMCauldron@CheemsNeil ..a "license" that the publisher can remotely deactivate. Same principle with a physical game cartridge: owning the copy and owning the IP are two different things.
@ChriGartner@DMCauldron@CheemsNeil That's not really different from buying a physical book. When I buy a book, I own that physical copy, but I don't own the copyright or the intellectual property. I can't reproduce the book and sell copies of it, but that doesn't mean the physical book I bought is merely..
@TRIPSTER0 It literally was plug and play in my case ๐ I inserted the physical Game Card and started playing. No download, no internet connection, no activation.
@Marconobii No internet connection is required to play a standard physical Game Card. You can literally put the cartridge in and play it offline.
As for the account... well, unfortunately (or fortunately ๐), these days we apparently need an account for everything...
@ChriGartner@DMCauldron@CheemsNeil ..that the publisher can remotely deactivate.
The same distinction applies here: owning the physical cartridge doesn't give me the game's intellectual property rights, but that doesn't mean the cartridge itself is just a remotely revocable digital license.
@ChriGartner@DMCauldron@CheemsNeil You're mixing up the software license with the physical medium. Yes, you are granted a license to use the software, but that doesn't make a standard physical Game Card a "digital license" that has to be activated online.
@CheemsNeil ฮคhis is a regular physical game card, so the game is on the cartridge and can be played without downloading it. Having a software license doesnโt mean Nintendo can simply remotely revoke your physical cartridge. :D
@CheemsNeil Thats not how a standard physical game card works. Nintendo has two types of cards on Switch 2: regular game cards, which contain the game data, and GameKey Cards, which only contain a key and require a download.
