YouTube is probably the single most effective tool of propaganda and narrative control the U.S. government has access to. Truly massive reach. Current focus has been banning creators and deleting videos which show evidence of the Gaza genocide. Another recent change removed the ability to sort videos by upload date (most recent first). Now smaller accounts posting on relevant topics can’t be found, only what the algo gives you. The promoted and suggested videos are more and more AI. They are managing a transition to a post-literate society. When nobody reads, news and history will come from video. YouTube will tell them what that history is and alter and remove whatever is inconvenient. They are training people to accept AI programs telling them what happened in any given event. An AI program running on a script that deletes facts that threaten oligarchy but adds made up nonsense for people to waste their time on. More and more they are removing humanity from the process entirely.
