We are now in the SENATE!
After another year of conversations around DC, we have gone bicameral. Steph and I are proud to announce the launch of the Senate Creators Caucus.
Washington is making increasingly consequential decisions about AI, social media, online safety, and the future of creative work. Creators, as the front lines of these issues, should be a voice in those conversations, but historically, we've fallen into the cracks of the system.
Now we have a seat at the table.
More to come soon!
@AlexTennyson@zeshanmujtaba@PicturesFoIder Didn’t his friend set him up knowing that Ed Sheeran doesn’t want to bring anything political to his concert and still did it anyway, despite knowing it would put Ed in a tough position and cause him to lose money, fans, and sponsors?
This is not a scene from a movie. This is October 7.
Aner came from Jerusalem to the Nova festival. He would become the hero of a story of almost superhuman strength and unimaginable bravery.
On October 7, he was dancing with friends - for freedom, love, and life. A magical smile. Starry eyes.
When the rocket barrages began, Aner and around 30 others who had fled the festival took shelter in a bomb shelter. They had no idea that within minutes, terrorists would arrive and they would be fighting for their lives.
Aner kept his cool and did not hesitate. He stood alone at the entrance to the shelter. He knew there was nowhere to run. Armed terrorists were outside.
The first grenade was thrown inside - Aner caught it and threw it back out.
Then the second.
Again and again, with his bare hands.
Eight times.
One man against a group of armed terrorists - and he stopped them. He stood there protecting the others with his own body, giving his life for them.
The ninth grenade exploded.
The terrorists continued throwing grenades and then opened fire on the wounded. Almost everyone inside the shelter was murdered. Some were kidnapped to Gaza. A few survived and later told the story of Aner's heroism - heroism that was also captured on the terrorists' own cameras.
If your grandchildren ever ask, tell them this:
Thousands of Nukhba terrorists were armed from head to toe with rifles, grenades, and RPGs - yet none of them had the courage Aner had.
Tell them he pursued justice.
Tell them he sanctified life.
Tell them about his kindness.
Aner fell in battle - a battle no one had prepared him for, yet he fought like a giant.
His spirit, courage, and bravery will stay with us forever.
His place is among giants.
This is the last image of him, at the bottom right - standing alone at the entrance to the shelter, waiting for the monsters.
The truth cannot be erased.
Don't you dare forget.
CRIMINAL HULKS OUT IN COURT , COLUMBIANA COUNTY, OHIO.
First, he BROKE HIS HANDCUFFS OFF.
Then the suspect turned, THROAT-PUNCHED the sheriff’s deputy escorting him, turned around, and absolutely TRUCKED the second sheriff.
Timothy Regal was there to be sentenced on charges including assault, aggravated menacing, and failure to comply.
I saw this late last night, had to share it.
In 1994, a 17-year-old Boy Scout named David Hahn tried to build a nuclear reactor in his mother's garden shed in Michigan.
He came closer than anyone expected.
After earning a merit badge in Atomic Energy, David became obsessed with building his own breeder reactor. He had no way to get real nuclear fuel, so he improvised.
He pulled americium out of hundreds of smoke detectors, scraped radium off antique clocks, and took thorium from camping lanterns.
To learn how to assemble it all, he wrote letters to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, pretending to be a science teacher.
It never became a working reactor. But by the summer of 1994, the radiation in the shed was 1,000 times higher than normal, and could be detected several houses away.
David realized he had lost control. He took the reactor apart and loaded it into his car.
But local police, responding to a report of suspicious activity, searched his trunk. He warned them that some of the material was radioactive.
The FBI, the EPA, and a federal nuclear emergency team were called in. Ten months later, men in protective suits tore down the shed and buried it in the Utah desert as radioactive waste.
David refused to be tested for exposure.
His life fell apart after that. His mother died two years later. He joined the Navy and served on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, but was banned from going near the reactors. He was later diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
In 2007, he was arrested again. He had been stealing smoke detectors from his apartment building.
David Hahn died in 2016, at 39. The autopsy found alcohol and fentanyl in his system. It had nothing to do with radiation.
@BaconOverlord@LukeEElwick@Madximilian The funny thing is they seem to have forgotten it was the Democrats who passed Jim Crow and that they supported the KKK
