@haunthuntress Astarion is still pretty much frozen in place. This isn't how this was supposed to go down. Not yet. Not like this.

"Sam.. careful."

He eyes Cazador warily. If he's by himself and since he can't be compelled, maybe there's a chance..

Well, after everything that had happened to him in the last hours, falling out of the sky really shouldn't have surprised him anymore. Neither that he - by some mysterious force - didn't end up as a pile of bloody pulp on a beach in gods know where.

@haunthuntress "It is", he breathes, staring into the darkness where the voice came from. This is eerily close to the dream he had. Unfortunately he's sure he's awake this time.

"I'm not going back!"

@haunthuntress He was about to roll up the bedroll when he abruptly froze, a distinct sensation of unease gripped him, causing the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up.

"No.. this can't be."

@haunthuntress - moving, I say we do that."

@haunthuntress He's immediately on high alert, the book discarded as he sat up straight. He squinted at the trees, trying to make out more since he had better view in the dark, but he didn't see anything either.

"We're like sitting ducks like this. If you're more comfortable if we keep -

@haunthuntress Just a week but he finds himself falling even more for her. They both get more anxious the closer they get to the city, but at least they can offer each other some comfort. Except this evening, Sam seems extra anxious.

He's lounging on his bedroll, reading a book he found -

Oh, that was definitely intentional.

"Really? To each their own I suppose."
He took her hand gently and brought her wrist to his lips, grazing her skin with his fangs and locking eyes with hers before he bit down.

Something in his tone made this casual question much more sensual than it was probably intended. Octavia took a deep breath and extended her wrist.

‘Start with that, please. I like it when blood trickles down my fingers. A most mesmerizing sight.’

@haunthuntress "I would hope so." He grinned again. "We should toast to us and the engagement."

On the evening of the gala, @haunthuntress and Astarion made their grand entrance, arriving fashionably late. In part due to an earlier outburst by Astarion regarding the unsatisfactory appearance of his hair, and also because he relished being the center of attention. They -

@haunthuntress He almost lost his composure again. No one ever cared about him that much. Instead he put on a brave face and pulled back.

"I'll be fine. I.. thank you."

"Your choice, of course. How do you want me?" He grinned.

‘The neck or the wrist?’ Octavia smirked, her eyes fixed on his refined pale face.

@haunthuntress "Mh. You 𝘢𝘳𝘦 a menace." He nuzzles her neck for a moment, breathing in her familiar scent to calm himself down. "You should go back to sleep."

@haunthuntress "I am aware." He gave a self-assured grin, but his expression softened as he looked at her. "Fortunately, I happened to come across the most stunning woman." He rested his forehead against hers. "I love you so much, Sam."
