Couldn’t sleep, so I went down for tea and ended up in the kitchens. Asked for toast. Walked out with enough to feed a dragon because the house-elves don’t understand the concept of “just one.” I escaped before they could add anything else.

My stomach dipped, then my temper flared to cover it.
“Right” my voice low and flat,
“Are you following me, or did you just get lost on the way to being a complete prat?”
I heard footsteps first. Not loud. Not rushed. Careful. Like whoever it was didn’t want to be seen, but they weren’t exactly trying to disappear either. I stopped outside the library, fingers tightening around my books.

The truth was I was under the Cloak, trying to get to the Restricted Section to nick a book I needed. Then I tripped on a bit of armour, the Cloak slipped, and now I’m standing here being lit up like a Christmas tree.
