@oa_zidan We wanted to explore the false closure vigilante justice could provide. What are all the things that could go right/wrong with the family of SA victims getting their hands on the “Epstein” files? Would innocents pay along the way? Would the system justify the vigilantism?

@courtaugs Thanks! Writing for Isobel was one of the most gratifying parts of this process. The room unanimously felt it had to be her episode given the levers of power at play when it comes to cases like this. Plus Alana is so hilarious and such a joy to work with!

@oa_zidan @tiffzidan It was Dot’s heartbreaking monologue about finding her son Drew after he hung himself and having to cut him down. The idea Jared/Sam were acting at her behest was interesting to us in the room. Even though she doesn’t lift a finger, she’s in cahoots with the pills. #FBICBS

@oa_zidan I already got to in S7! Ray Distefano. One of our brilliant writers Mae came up with him and we all loved the actor’s chemistry with Missy. So we thought it’d be cool to see these foes be forced to work a case together (Acolyte) and leave the door open for a final showdown.

@ConComposer When we pitched Manifest, all we had was locked room murder mystery at 30K feet and Maggie/OA having to work with the JOC to ID the assailant on board. But the room helped build why they’re on the plane, why the murder happens in the first place, how it all unfolds etc.

@ConComposer Every writer of each episode comes into the room with at least a kernel of an idea of a crime/episode they’re circling. And once that concept is approved by the showrunner, the room helps build each episode beat by beat.

@maggiesbell Maggie’s superpower has always been her empathy and ability to connect with people emotionally/psychologically. So a profiler. Hence her getting into BAU this year.

For OA, a firefighter. He seems to be an adrenaline junkie who loves helping people (Special Forces, FBI).
