Our product blog, The Schemata Drop, is back with edition #2 🎉
This time we're diving deeper, showing how Schemata turns your physical assets into simulations you can actually run: switches flipping, gears turning, platforms lifting, the whole range of motion recreated and viewable from any angle on your device.
Inside, we cover how exploded views help technicians troubleshoot faster (no more pulling the wrong panel just to find out it's not the one you needed), and how running simulations builds real confidence before anyone touches the actual equipment.

Most people know Schemata as the AI-powered platform that trains maintainers and operators inside photorealistic 3D environments.
But training is the wedge, not the ceiling.
Underneath that platform is something more foundational: a spatial intelligence layer that captures real-world equipment and facilities in 3D, understands how their components relate and function, and lets AI reason about them the way someone standing in front of the machine would.
That same layer already powers more than training, it's the same foundation behind our Operations & Maintenance Platform.
We started with training because it's one of the hardest places to prove this kind of technology: high stakes, high complexity, no room for getting it wrong. But the same underlying problem, understanding complex physical systems well enough to reason about them, shows up everywhere from simulation to autonomy to day-to-day operations.
We think of what we're building as spatial intelligence as a service. Training is where this started. It's not where it stops.
We've been building something new behind the scenes, and now we're ready to start sharing it: The Schemata Drop is officially live! 🎉
Here's what you'll find there: how our product's newest features actually solve real problems, practical tips to get more value out of what you're already using, and the "why" behind decisions we're making as we grow.

Most AI tools only know what you type. They don't know what's actually in front of you, or which of the objects in view are the ones that matter right now.
Schemata's platform changes that.
Our AI can surface multiple relevant 3D objects in a single response, not just one at a time, and let you explore them together as a group. It tracks how many there are, keeps them organized, and makes it easy to move through them without losing your place. When it cites sources, it filters out the noise and keeps only the citations that genuinely support the answer.
The result is AI that treats your environment as context, not just your words. Instead of one answer at a time, you get a full, organized picture of everything that's relevant, backed by sources you can actually trust.

Two of the biggest friction points in frontline work: finding the right information and knowing what to do next.
Both solved.
Instant Knowledge Access pulls the exact document or procedure from your internal knowledge base, no searching, no asking around. Real-time Task Guidance delivers step-by-step instructions in the moment, surfacing the right checklist or process based on what you're doing.
Knowledge that reaches people when they need it. That's the difference.

"This is so useful. I'd make it a requirement for every one of my soldiers to have your app downloaded on their phone."
That's what an Army Reservist said after spending an hour with our training app.
In April, we brought our Grenade and Claymore modules to combat engineers, then walked through it with US Army stakeholders. Three things stood out:
→ The biggest pain point in training isn't equipment, it's access to good materials. Soldiers rely on a 142-page doctrine PDF and printed cards. The moment we put a tablet in their hands, they were asking how to get more.
→ Interactive 3D wasn't "nice to have." It changed how they saw the product. Within minutes they were mapping it onto problems we hadn't built for: jam diagnosis, knot tying, IED identification. They went from seeing modules to seeing a platform.
→ Training happens on a bus, in the field, the night before an event. Not just at a desk with Wi-Fi. Offline and mobile just moved up our roadmap.
At the end, a squad leader looked up from the iPad: "I want an entire library of assets I can have my guys click into."
See it for yourself. Book a demo.

Animated Procedures are now live.
Step through any sequence, move the parts yourself, and repeat until it sticks.
Here's what that means for the people who'll actually use it:
- For a trainee, it means running an unfamiliar procedure: getting it wrong, resetting, running it again, before ever touching the live equipment.
- For a maintainer six months out from their last refresher, it means walking through the steps right next to the machine, without printing a manual or walking back to the computer room.
- For an instructor, it means students show up to the hands-on portion already familiar with the motion. Your time is spent on what only a human can teach.
If your team trains or maintains on complex equipment, DM us to see it in action.

A maintainer shouldn't have to use a 600-page manual and a 2D diagram printed in black and white to figure out a faulty part.
Yet that's the workflow today, whether you're a trainee learning a system for the first time or a technician trying to fix one under pressure. Static documentation just can't keep up with how people actually work on machines.
That's why we're building Exploded Views at Schemata. The idea: make the 3D model itself the manual. Take any piece of equipment in our app, watch it come apart, inspect any component, and put it back together.
Learn the machine before you ever touch it. Or find the right part the moment you need it.
Coming soon to our M&O experience. If you maintain or train on complex equipment and want an early look, DM us.

Here's something we've been thinking about a lot lately:
Virtual training and simulation get a team ready for day one. But what about day 100? Day 1,000?
The skills built in simulation only pay off if they translate into the messy, unpredictable reality of running and maintaining real systems: handling the edge cases, the wear-and-tear, and the "that's never happened before" moments.
A technician we interviewed put it perfectly:
"Sometimes technicians are looking at something and they don't even know what they're looking at, even if they have their certifications."
That's the part our product team has been digging into. And while it's still very much a work in progress, here's an early peek at what's coming together:
→ AI-powered ingestion of existing manuals, surfacing the right documentation and diagrams on demand
→ Exploded, interactive 3D views of the actual equipment, showing techs exactly what they're looking at
→ Step-by-step procedures for live operations and maintenance tasks
All in one place. No more switching between PDFs, training videos, and tribal knowledge.
The throughline: the knowledge that powers training shouldn't disappear the moment your team hits the floor. It should follow them into maintenance and operations, exactly where the stakes are highest.
#MilitaryTraining
Training works when trainees can focus on the task, not on the tool. That's the idea behind the latest updates to the Schemata platform.
What's new:
- Guided onboarding: step-by-step product tours that get trainees and instructors productive from their very first session, with progress saved automatically
- Graphics quality settings: choose between low, medium, or high quality in the 3D viewer to match your device performance
Plus dozens of smaller improvements: more reliable login sessions, smoother tutorials, steadier 3D navigation, cleaner UI, and more stable content publishing for instructors, all part of a broader investment in security and compliance.
The work behind the scenes matters. It's what keeps trainees focused on the mission.

Yesterday, our team had the privilege of visiting Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, one of the many installations we're proud to support. These onsite visits are at the heart of how we work: sitting down with the people who use Schemata’s platform every day, hearing what's working, what isn't, and where we can do more.
Grateful for the continued partnership and the candid conversations that make our platform better. 🇺🇸

Photorealism used to take months. And that limited what you could actually do with it.
Traditional 3D workflows were slow, manual, and dependent on specialized teams, so even when photorealism was possible, it didn’t scale.
That’s what’s changed.
With an AI-native 3D pipeline, real-world systems can now be turned into photorealistic environments in days, not months.
Powered by 3D Gaussian Splatting, every surface, reflection, and detail looks real, because it is.
Which means:
✔️ True-to-life detail across every surface
✔️ Real-world lighting, texture, and depth
✔️ Environments that match what operators actually see
Photorealism isn’t new. Making it operational is.

We’re currently piloting our AI-Enabled Virtual Training Platform across multiple Air Force installations within Ground Transportation training workflows including Altus AFB, Whiteman AFB, Seymour Johnson AFB, Ramstein AB, Nellis AFB, Langley AFB, and Joint Base Andrews.
These early deployments are giving us the opportunity to work directly with Airmen and instructors to better understand where this technology can make the biggest impact.
What we’re seeing in these deployments:
- Reduced reliance on physical vehicles, enabling training even when assets aren’t available
- More accessible, on-demand training that increases availability and inspection capacity
- AI-guided learning that allows trainees to move through inspections independently
More to come as we continue learning from the field.

Keeping training content current shouldn’t be a bottleneck.
We’re building Instructor Editing Tools inside Schemata’s AI-Enabled Virtual Training Platform so instructors can update training themselves.
- Create quizzes, flashcards, and tutorials
- Embed images, video, and interactive 3D
- Preview changes before publishing
Training should evolve as fast as the systems it supports.

Realism isn’t just how it looks. It’s how it feels.
Photorealistic 3D means nothing if navigating it feels disorienting.
We’ve been addressing a recurring sandbox pain point:
- Controls too sensitive
- Swinging through walls
- Getting stuck mid-room
- Hard to focus on components
So we’re improving interaction inside our 3D environments:
✔️ Adjustable sensitivity
✔️ First-person navigation for large scenes
✔️ Fewer “through-the-wall” moments
✔️ Finer component control
✔️ Guardrails to prevent camera drift
The goal isn’t smoother movement. It’s fewer disorienting events.
Realism = intuitive interaction.

Training lands better when learners can follow the steps, not just read them.
Schemata turns real-world assets into interactive modules that show users what to look at, what to check, and what to do next.
Training the way people actually learn.
