This week Fire Chief Robert Patterson and 45 other Chief Officers from around the State completed the Indiana Fire & Public Safety Academy’s Fire Chief’s Academy course. The five day program included topics ranging from municipal budgets to mental wellness to state legislature.

SCHERERVILLE, IN: Fallen SSG U.S. Army Brandon Fassoth's body was escorted from O'Hare airport to Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville Monday evening. The Patriot Guard led the way. Schererville Fire Department hung a flag over the procession near Cline and Route 30. Citizens lined the streets to pay their respects. Flags were flying. From INDOT: US 30 will have reduced speed limits from Illinois State Line to US 41 beginning May 15, 2024 in the evening.
Speed limit will be reduced to 35mph.
