Someone explained it to me perfectly the other day tbh.

After the 5 substitutions were introduced it basically meant that team could start playing aggressively instead of having a more conservative approach to games.

Because of this wingers with a low defensive work rate like Leao and Rashford suffered and that’s why they’re in the position they’re in today.

Both of them are incredible wingers, but just like the traditional #10 died in football, wingers that don’t like tracking back have as well.
