@benjamindickman We made 5 gallons of apple cider and will store it in jars that contain 2/3 gallons each. How many containers are needed?

At 2/3 gallon each, we can put two gallons into 3 containers. I.e., we need 3 containers for every 2 gallons.

For 5 gallons, we need 3+3+1.5 containers.

The use of machine grading also necessitates the use of certain types of taks. Open ended tasks necessarily require more nuanced feedback.

balance goes up since (-3)(-5) = 15.

The bank takes away 3 equal transactions, and the balance goes up $15, how much was each transaction? 15/(-3) = -5. The transactions were each $5 debits.

I don't love it.

It might be particularly instructive for students if they can slide the argument along the x axis on the graph on the right, and track that back to the unit circle to produce the outputs.

@ADelliger Would creating a single page image with all 52 cards displayed in a natural organization and labeled in some way be a useful reference for students?

Maybe couple this with exploratory basic probability questions. If a card is selected at random, is each suit equally likely? Etc.
