@fordnation Can you please look at studies that demonstrate that bike lanes are better for traffic, people, and businesses. This isn’t complicated, why are you making it so?
@LeonKelem@nickiozzo @glynbowerman Incorrect. Cyclists pay income and property taxes that pay for infrastructure (roads and bike lanes). So they do pay taxes to be on roadways. Paying for gasoline is not a toll for using roads. Do you get a discount for gas taxes when you purchase it for use in a boat? Lawnmower?
@LeonKelem@nickiozzo @glynbowerman So what is your point about taxes for gasoline vs cyclists? Cyclists pay for infrastructure via taxes, as you admit. You choose to only travel by a means that requires purchasing something for which there are additional taxes, that’s your choice.
@_MarkSutcliffe Mr. Mayor, can you comment about those in the core that feel rural residents are making decisions on how we should live our lives that neglect our unique needs which are being overlooked?
@RoadSafetyBC I don’t know, maybe drivers shouldn’t drive into pedestrians, especially ones crossing properly at a crosswalk, even if they are looking at their phones.
