Don't distract yourself. Do the opposite—burn that feeling into your brain—because this is exactly why we watch the 9th inning of February Spring Training games. This is sacred. It's why we squint at pitch shapes for the dozens of non roster-invitees. It's why we check box scores and highlights of A-ball games. Years and years of doing this.

So when that first pitch is thrown, look at those clean batters box lines. Hear that crowd. Look at Busch's little hip queue thing just before the first pitch is thrown.

Every single do-or-die elimination game is sacred. These are the lasting memories. Good, bad, whatever—it's these games that you'll talk about in the year 2035.
