Kinetic sculptures often have gears as a way to make things move at different speeds. Students today are experimenting to get a conceptual idea of gearing ratio and rotational direction.
After much waiting and excitement, the fourth graders have finally started on their kinetic sculpture week. Today, students are learning about center of mass, mass, and balance.
Jonathon Augustin, from Children's Aid and Family Services, met with students in grades 5-8 to educate students about vaping, its dangers, and ways companies try to attract adolescents to use their products.
Hunger doesn't take a break for the summer, so the Brookside Student Council organized a Summer Snack Pack drive. We prepared over 500 summer snack packs as well as 6 boxes of extra items for the Center for Food Action. Every child was part of making a snack pack.
