My rm was a MESS 😳🤪 as Sci8 @Wilson_Rams transformed materials into model water transport sys. Strict dimensions. Sys had to withstand weight of many pennies (not as messy as water!) thru mult trials. Lots of exp. design as they integrate their knowledge of phys & nat resources

I used the word hypotenuse and Sci8 @Wilson_Rams were using Pygathorean’s Theorom to develop a design for their model water transport systems. Love this cross-curricular CAP that spotlights their creativity & highlights their physics and natural resources knowledge.

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams spent a day at the @WMSRams_Library to explore Energy Transformations with #makerspace. Sts found that adding more chemical energy = a brighter light, and catching their reactions & surprise on camera made my day! To quote a student: Science is EVERYWHERE! 🤩

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams witnessed Newton’s Laws in action with a lab this week. 🍎👩🏽‍🔬💥 Watch this cool slow motion of Newton’s 3rd Law and have your student explain the science to you!

We started the new year with some team building in Sci8! Sts had to build a pyramid out of cups using only yarn and a rubber band... and without talking to their group. A fun challenge to get our brains back in the groove!

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams decorating gingerbread houses today! 🍬🏠🍬 Teams had to earn their “candies” by answering science questions correctly. House point values were revealed at end of class to find who the winning team was. FUN! 💚

We created a cozy environment in Honors Sci8 today so that we could proofread classmates’ CAP. We complimented successes and gave specific suggestions on how to revise. Proud of their commitment to help their fellow @Wilson_Rams! #sciencewritestoo

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams investigate how light (sun) intensity changes with latitude. I saw many (metaphorical) light bulbs today! 💡🌎☀️

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams got right to work drawing, identifying, and predicting moon phases today. 🌖🌑🌓 Loved their teamwork and excitement! Who knew the lunar cycle could be so fun?!

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams played “Pin the Sun on the Milky Way” today as they each took a guess as to where we’re located. 📌☀️🌀 Stars were removed one at a time until the only one left showed the correct placement. The suspense was exciting for them!

My daughters saw a rainbow today... look at all that refraction happening! ☀️+💧=🌈 @Wilson_Rams learned in Sci8 why red is always at the top and violet is always at the bottom. Ask them to find out!

Not just “test review day”, but Sci8 ESCAPE ROOM DAY!! 🔗🕵🏼‍♂️🔍 1-Unlock clues by answering chemistry questions. 2-Uncover your magic word. 3-Collect three correct magic words to ESCAPE! I loved seeing our @Wilson_Rams enthusiasm and determination!

Sci8 @Wilson_Rams “built” chemical equations today to recognize whether or not they obeyed the Law of Conservation of Mass. We felt like law enforcement when we were ensuring everything obeyed the law! 👮🏽‍♂️💚🐑
