The cashier at @HarrisTeeter accidentally broke my eggs when ringing them up. While we were waiting for someone to go get another carton, he cracked another one of the raw eggs on the counter and swallowed the raw yolk whole to redeem himself. Someone give this man a promotion.

I've asked for details on why Sampath is being left out; no responses yet. But it seems to be an issue of how the 1,000 contributions are verified. Georgetown/Fox 5 seem to be saying they need to be officially included in a campaign finance report, either March 10 or June 10.
🚨thanks to you, we have reached the
1,000+ donation threshold for DC's largest televised debate.🚨
We've now communicated this milestone to FOX 5 and Georgetown and are awaiting their confirmation on next steps. If our supporters have any @fox5dc or @Georgetown connections to escalate our inquiry, please email [email protected]

In light of more dark money pouring into the DC Mayor's race today, circling back on this.
We don't have to accept corruption as the status quo. We don't have to accept millions in our tax money being spent on campaign attack ads instead of programs we actually need. We deserve more from our city and from our leaders.
DC is facing a real budget crisis and we need to get this right. That means accountability, execution, and a pro-growth strategy to expand our tax base. Make it easier for small businesses to open and stay open, say no to the business activity tax, and fix permitting. One small business owner told me it was easier to open a shop in Soviet Armenia than DC. That should be a wake-up call. Let’s grow our economy so we can sustain the social services we all care about.
I see a lot of people in my circles criticizing Kenyan for his take on speed cameras, and I want to offer a nuanced perspective. Last night in Ward 8 I heard a lot of frustration about them. If you’re making $19,000 a year, a $200 ticket is devastating. But the answer here isn’t eliminating technology that keep pedestrians and children safe. We need to address the root of the problem, focus on why speed cameras are even up for debate. To me, when people feel squeezed by housing, groceries, and utilities, government penalties feel predatory. The way we address that cost of living crisis is by attracting more businesses and creating more jobs, while making sure those jobs lift up the residents who need opportunity the most. Leadership means holding these nuances at the same time. If you can’t do that, you shouldn’t be sitting in the mayor’s office. I will continue to push both DC residents and our mayoral candidates to embrace this type of nuance throughout this race. https://t.co/dFwuSOXAeP
@RiniSampath If you accidentally go 6mph over the speed limit to get through a yellow light, you get smacked with a speeding ticket that they don’t send for 3 weeks, at which point you only have 1 week to pay before the fine doubles if you remember quickly enough. It’s a broken system
@RiniSampath Agreed here. The city purported to introduce speeding cameras to improve pedestrian safety, which the cameras clearly havent done (reference: project zero data). The actual hidden purpose of them was an indirect tax on residents, which it has done.
The politicians who let DC’s infrastructure crumble aren't the ones who are going to fix it. I’m not a political insider or backed by special interests. I’m a federal contractor who specializes in fixing large, failing systems. DC deserves a government that works for its citizens. Completely unacceptable to cancel trains from Penn Station and all along the Northeast corridor during rush hour. Working people and commuters need reliable public transportation to get home.
This needs to be addressed ASAP!
Pls join me in thanking our amazing custodian team on #NationalCustodianAppreciationDay. #yourmetro is the cleanest system in the country because of our team’s hard work. Keep up the good job crew!
