I am pretty sure, however, that MMT (Modern Monetary Theory) doesn't believe that U.S. money is privately created.

Great list, inspiring--except for one inclusion.
The late Stephen Zarlenga, in Lost Science of Money, has a quote about The Nation being one of the few media outlets that noticed, in real time, that the 1913 Federal Reserve act had privatized the creation of money (p. 526).

America is a currency creator so there’s no reason for people to live like this. Government and the banks have made a deal to keep the people in debt. They always say if you print money it will cause inflation. They just printed 3 trillion. Little or no inflation.
