Justice virtual briefing: Justice says he has "absolute confidence" in WVU President Gordon Gee, says, "That man is eat up with trying to do good things for West Virginia."
The last 10 minutes of the assembly have been taken up by voting on whether or not to allow Provost Maryanne Reed to speak on the resolution to freeze the Academic Transformation process.
302-406, provost will not be heard.
Of note: The only faculty speaking against the Gee no confidence resolution are faculty in WVU Health Sciences. Gee, in his 5-min rebuttal, spent most of his time talking about the success of WVU Medicine.

Wheeling is still recovering from Tuesday morning’s storm amidst another day with a heat index over 100° I had a chance to speak with some of the impacted citizens yesterday.

@Hersh_WVU@SeanManning_1 Came here to say this. The apartment building was supposed to be an anchor for a MUCH larger development that would have completely changed the intersection. There was/is even a TIF district set up to help fund it, but the apartment developers went bankrupt.
It is now 91° and rising in Wheeling. My weather app says the heat index already is up to 108°, 3° more than the forecast of 105°. Its expected to get as hot as 95° this afternoon.
Its only 88° in Wheeling, but the heat index is already up to 99°. Power is still out across the region, and residents are trying to clear out downed trees like this black walnut near Wheeling Park.
The Tuesday morning storm that caused all this damage carved a swath through the city, and downtown the results are block to block. On 16th St. the power remains out and the DHHR building had part of its roof blown off. But just a few blocks over on Chapline St power is on.
Inside the Emergency Operations Center in the basement of the City-County building.
Lou Vargo, the Director of the local Emergency Management Agency said the storm cut such a direct line with so much force, they are asking the National Weather Service to investigate.
