Asst. Professor of Journalism @ the U of Arizona.
Views are my own and all that jazz.
Science journalism is pretty cool. Esp. LGBTQ and identity topics.

Are you a journalist writing about science and feeling burnt out? Or a scientist who regularly talks to the press? You're not alone! My coauthor and I explored burnout in these groups in our new Journalism Studies publication:

I rarely post anything, let alone work promotion, but I am particularly proud of the conceptual work that co-authors and I just published in Communication and Change. We discuss the implications of AI for Comm research and offer provocative directions:

Why should YOU submit to PLCD at AEJMC midwinter? For the friends you made along the way! This was my first conference as a grad student and I truly made professional friends I have kept in touch with as a faculty member. I HIGHLY encourage you to promote our call to students!
Hi you! Yes you? Do you publish about political communication and you're looking for a great regional conference to present your work at and get feedback? Well look further and consider submitting to the PLCD at AEJMC Midwinter in lovely Norman, OK!

Just had a cool research paper published in Communication and Sport about sport and political identities predict the ways that people perceive the political environment in the US. Some neat insights for how identities serve as guiding principles!

The School of Journalism is well represented at the @AEJMC conference in Philadelphia, PA!
Director Jessica Retis, @UArizonaSBS Associate Dean Jeannine E. Relly, Associate Professor Monica Chadha, and new Assistant Professor Josh Anderson are all presenting this week.
Great to see so many scholars at #AEJMC24 think deeply about how academics can support local journalists. I especially liked hearing @PR_Johnson 's comments about helping journalists better serve communities and how academics can interact with journalists from a place of humility
The School of Journalism is excited to welcome two new professors to our faculty this fall semester. Please join us in welcoming assistant professors Zicheng Cheng and Josh Anderson!

@JohnLeFevre@dieworkwear Tulsa actually has quite a few neighborhoods (Cherry Street, Brookside, Utica Sq, Greenwood) where you will catch people looking pretty stylish. Honestly this is a pretty reductive take on "middle america" that is not grounded in the reality of these communities.
