Our "Mission to Mars" STEM Extravaganza was a blast! Rising 3rd–12th grade students put their engineering skills to the test, designing and programming Mars Rovers to navigate the challenges of space exploration. From dust storms to rescue missions, they tackled it all with creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Thank you to everyone that came out last night for the info session on the STEM Academy @WeAreBTWE!!! Great information was shared and applications open in February! This is the only elementary lab school in Virginia and we are so excited about the partnership with @ODU!!!

Suffolk Public Schools is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Old Dominion University to launch the STEM Academy at Booker T. Washington Elementary in the 2025–2026 school year!

This innovative program for K–5 students will feature a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to science, technology, engineering, and math. Learn about the Academy's mission, curriculum and enrollment process at our STEM Academy Information Night.
