Fed up?
Heat getting to you?
Dreading work tomorrow?
Then grab a drink, take a seat, relax and watch 10 minutes of nothing special, just the life of a precious little family safe and content, growing and learning.
I guarantee you will feel better. ❤️
As we enter yet another week of drought conditions please, I beg you, put out water for the wildlife.
They have nothing.
No puddles.
No ponds.
No streams.
All have dried up.
Sometimes the birds are thought of and provided for.
But the nocturnal animals go unseen.
Unthought of.
No kind dishes.
Just the tantalising smell of water from a pond they may drown in, or a drain they may get trapped in.
Or a stagnant, dirty old birdbath they may get fatal fluke from.
Hedgehogs need to drink a lot of water to stay healthy. Please provide clean, fresh, safe, ground level water each evening for our precious nocturnal wildlife.
Tap water is best.
Pop a dish or two out tonight.
Dying of thirst is a terrible, painful way to die.
It should never happen to any animal, and certainly not in a country that has the safest tap water in the world.
The few minutes it takes you to fill a dish will make the difference between life and death.❤️
It’s always exciting to see a wild hedgehog visit, and this one certainly enjoyed the IAMS food. Hedgehogs are beautiful creatures, but they are sadly becoming rarer to spot. That’s why I’m over the moon to have this regular visitor.
Artist Eliza Konofalska from Poland 🇵🇱 has very beautiful artwork, for anyone interested in having a look please see her website here: 🧐🎩 https://t.co/HG7kxu8uWh

Found this little one on the ground earlier not moving. Luckily with a little bit of TLC it was fine and flew off after warming up. I kept an eye from a distance to make sure it was okay. Always wear gloves when handling wildlife!
Latest treasure!
Today's special find was dug out from beneath a pile of rubble. I've rinsed it but love the patina on it so will leave it as it is.
I think I was meant to find it! I've found so many lovely things buried beneath the garden.
This is a keeper! :-)
Darling Layla, who was so full of deadly fluke and lungworm, has now finished her treatment and is perfectly healthy.
She's a local girl, so I'll release her from my garden, where she can go straight back home if she wants, or stay around in a nice safe pen until she feels ready.🥰
If #hedgehogs were in the Olympics gymnastics team...
This hedgehog is fighting for its chance at winning the gold medal on the balance beam! 🏅🤸♂️#Paralympics2024

Hartley and Wintney, the tiny 90g flyblown babies who were barely alive when brought in, have now finished all their treatments.
Amazingly, they look like normal little hoglets now. At 450g and 500g they are still too small to be released, so have been given a Riverside hay house in their pen so they can practice nest making.
Wintney steams in, dragging in all the hay, then the newspaper strips from their day bed.
Her brother Hartley mostly just stands and watches his sister. You can almost hear the conversation here:
"Do you want me to help?"
"Yes, you can help by getting out of my way!"😁
An auspicious find in the garden at the weekend! Now has pride of place in the shade garden I'm creating. We have big plans to create a #wildlife haven here - find out more on my blog https://t.co/U7ZdzT4uFt #yorkshirewolds#hedgehog
