Here is an article from 2013 in which it talks about the Oxford English Dictionary updating its language to include gay couples.
@nigelwickenden@DrDjemal Just like most of us have done away with the old encyclopedias on the shelves, maybe it’s time to update your dictionary. If Webster’s can do it, I have faith you can, too. Just a question, does calling this man’s husband by that title strip you or others of your titles?
After the most frustrating, anxiety-fueled first quarter of school in my 13 years of teaching, I decided to listen to my body & mind. I handed in my resignation yesterday and accepted a position at my old company teaching ESL. I will miss my students, but not the constant stress.
@flyingmonkey13 Our school requires cameras on, but it’s a battle I have stopped fighting. As an educator, I want to know my students are present/engaged, but as a human, I understand we all have camera off days, whether intentional or not. It is also shown to be effective against Zoom fatigue.
Costa Rica announced today that there will be no in-person school for at least the remainder of 2020. As much as I can’t wait to be face to face again, it’s nice to know how to plan, what to expect, and that safety is a priority. #distancelearning
Sending all my love to the entire @acecharterhigh family, who lost two incredible souls this week. We are all better people for knowing them and their energy will live on in us all.
I embraced my inner @BreneBrown today and was extremely vulnerable. It was difficult sharing my pain with others, but I feel like I was able to connect with my students on a level I didn’t think possible over Zoom. #itsokaytohurt#vulnerability#SocialEmotionalLearning
