The DNA in our cells is packaged into 46 chromosomes in the nucleus. DNA is arranged as a coil of coils of coils of coils of coils and fit into space just 6 microns across. If you stretched the DNA in one cell all the way out, it would be about 2 metres long. #alexkakinenstudio
The studio also does 2D scientific illustrations. For example, this scheme was designed for a review article published in Advanced Materials journal. It was also a winner of the Science by Design Competition 2018 by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Bio-Nano Science and Technology.
It's just incredible how nature has managed to come up with such complex methods to store information and create life.
We still have a long way to understand all this!
