Can we talk about the fact that DP in strive being 9f's lets characters get away with so much? Why can someone block a f.s, then DP and hit their recovery frames? Why can DP fundamentally change how you approach fighting the opponent? Like, fuck DP, should be throwable again. Pls
Hot take but I think using a DP from a wrong range and getting punished on hit was something we needed a long time ago cause if you're DPing from a range it clearly won't hit me directly you deserve to explode no matter what
@SundanceFGC@il_bIud Anjis fuujin followups cannot counterhit, the reward on ch is the same as if I hit them normally
Saying DP is low reward is not even true, again, kicking someone off of their offense without meter is super super strong, yes, there is risk, but so is all defensive mechanics
@SundanceFGC@il_bIud And to say it's not safe unless it's -4 is also kinda wrong since distance ALSO matters, like, Anji nagiha, if spaced, is -7, but unpunishable
@SundanceFGC@il_bIud I'll give an example, fuujin used to lose to dp on block, it is now -8, specifically designed to beat DP as it used to be -16 on block.
It still loses to mash, and not to c.s since it has good pushback, but, it was SPECIFICALLY given -8 to beat out DPs
@Young_Lz_23@PkMange@Elite4k_ You're not looking to punish the startup of spin, the startup of spin auto loses to meaty options or spinning on defense in bad situations
And some characters are, round start 9f f.s', projectiles forcing the spin to make Anji minus
There is a lot of actual things you can do
@ScarahFGC@Elite4k_ And this is purely in neutral, spin on defense is pretty shit, again, risk reward, and spin on offence is pretty alright, in neutral when most characters have buttons that can autotime beat 3 different options of spin, it's actually about what you mentioned, taking space

It controls neutral, but the problem is that spins reward this patch is a fragment of reward comparably, and in most cases isn't worth the risk reward if someone doesn't just mash on it
@PkMange@Young_Lz_23@Elite4k_ The only time this doesn't work is on charged fuujin, but that implies they are close enough where charged fuujin is going to be as big of a problem, if you are spaced to beat spin, then you are spaced to beat fuujin, most of the time

1) In recovery of held spin thus in CH recovery
2) Finished unheld spinning and is blocking thus now it's your turn
3) Finished unheld spinning and is pressing a button getting ch

@Young_Lz_23@Elite4k_ so a tool like a DP is purely guessing, you're not reacting to one like a super flash, nor are you seeing them on frame 9 and going "hmm, yes, block " you're actively making choices to prevent something, it's a guessing game, while someone charging spin or fuujin is reactionary
@Young_Lz_23@Elite4k_ So playing neutral this patch for Anji is where he is weakest compared to the rest of his kit, having a great metered reversal on block, 2p of the gods, 4frame full body low on 2D, etc and his offense is nuts in the corner, specifically, his midscreen is whatever comparably
