I DO NOT think people understand that global warming doesn’t mean “no cold weather ever.” It means a warming planet destabilizes weather patterns, causing more extreme weather. This has been explained for decades and people still don’t get it.
i think the takeaway here should be that we should be extremely happy that the two highest grossing live action original films of the entire decade are critically acclaimed horror films

This is what bugs me the most about the live action.
Here's a hot take, I don't hate live action adaptions. We've had good live action adaptions, a majority of them just don't have the right people behind them.
But what I hate about this one specifically is the wasted potential.
It's got the budget, its got the backing, I think a lot of the costumes (not all of them, looking at Azula, Ty Lee and Mai's) are actually pretty good. The creature VFX are awesome too and even the element VFX, while poorly executed, aren't that bad either. They also clearly chose a good Aang.
But then you have writing that seemingly goes out of its way to spit all over the original series in so many ways. It changes major plot elements, swaps characters out for irrelevant ones (Roku to Kyoshi), it tries to make references to the original but almost as if to spite the original. I want to think they're not doing it spitefully but that's how it can come across.
I don't hate live action adaptions because I like seeing new ways to enjoy something. What I do hate is when the new way just completely disrespects what came before it—like the live action cowboy bebop. THAT one I'm still pissed at.
