This time last week I submitted my PhD thesis...think it has just about sunk in and my sleep pattern is back to normal! Viva to go, but I'm still basking in the relief and joy of it all.

Knowing that this is the year that I am going to complete my thesis excites me most about 2024 and whatever lies ahead of me beyond it. It's the hardest thing I have ever worked on, but achieving this truly means everything to me. Happy New Year when it comes 🎉

Need a rant. Phoned letting agent cause I've got multiple leaks ongoing in the flat, really bad ones in bedroom. The response was that everyone in Dundee is the same, just manage it...maybe that should reveal something about the quality of your hundreds of flats you crooks

What is going through your head to want to do this?? Can't wrap my head around human actions like this. Do they think their mates will be in awe of them? Does that cancel out regret and being arrested etc? I dunno.

We are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight, in what appears to be an act of vandalism.

We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited.

We are working with our partners to understand what has happened and what can be done.

The incident has also been reported to the police.

My curious beansprout has been staying with mum for 2 weeks because of a hellish few weeks for me living under dust and plastic sheets with insulation getting installed inside every room of the flat. But finally I get him home this weekend cause I've missed him affy!

This is truly insane. Keeping an anxious eye on all that is being suggested about getting rid of whisky advertising and the claims that it's all the same stuff in the end! The importance of whisky and whisky tourism to Scotland's economy makes this laughable.

So according to @AlisonDouglas18 of @AlcoholFocus having the name of a distillery on a building should be banned. Furthermore The Johnnie Walker Princes Street experience would need to be renamed to 'Diageo Princes Street' and all signage removed. Seriously??

I've been lucky enough to catch an early look at this incredible book courtesy of @RoyalMileWhisky. Full of articles and photos discovered in the British Library, I'm enjoying putting historical context to my contemporary focus. Barley also approves.
