@CatharineHoey there has been no left wing uk
govt since 1979. All the rest just carried on thatcherism, privatising all they can, leaving nothing that the people hold in common but memories
@CatharineHoey well for a start labour haven’t been left wing in govt since I was a child and i’m late 50s. Labour are just a centre right party with slightly more socially liberal views than Tories.
@indy_swim@poloandsons Stu really is a wrong un and totally OCD obsesssive weirdo who has been mentally stuck for about 9ys now. Though imo the u turn in his output soon after plod seized his computers is v hard not to wonder about
@CallumLyon in the uk it’s v bad right now. Too many people go the third reich route of looking downwards to find blame and scapegoats but in reality the middle is being squeezed because the corps and very rich hide from tax and wealth has become MUCH more concentrated in a smaller % of pop
unionists don’t get that indy is an idea and ideas are immortal and not dependent on any individual. Bigwigs come and go but the idea is an force that is not subject to time or people passing. Indy is a universal fundemental that it’s perverse to not support it.
@OrevaZSN clearly an addiction and addictions ultimately do not make sense. They have compulsions to be rich/crave status =why they are rich, not because they work much harder. They were likely narcissists since childhood. The word ‘competive’ covers a multitude of sins
@OrevaZSN ‘the love of money is the root of all evil’ J. H. Christ ‘it is easier for a camel to pass thru and eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven’. Most people who dedicate their lives to money and power are very bad humans
if Murrell returned every penny to the SNP i’d happily let him go to a mental institution rather then prison. What he did was psychological irrational behaviour and he needs a shrink more than jail. The spending wasn’t even for much enjoyment. More like a Magpie compulsion
I’ve given my monthly sub to snp for decades so could be a grand or two of my money in there so i’m a victim but I forgive him. if he repays it then that’s the crime undone for me but he needs psychiatric help not jail imo. I think many prisoners need help not punishment
@Tinkerjojo no but it’s irrational. A rapidly depreciating camper he never used? Makes no sense. He also left the party about 100 grand around the time the camper was bought. Again it makes no sense. If the camper was in the snp party accounts did he ever even own it personally?
@GerryKeogh_ did you know he leant the snp out of his own pocket almost the exact same as the camper cost? That’s bonkers. Also if the camper was bought by the snp then did he ever actually own it personally (he only put 3 miles on the clock so didn’t even use it)and depreciation is brutal.
@GerryKeogh_ no not me. I always ask why no matter who. The what is never enough.I have to understand why. There is always a why even if it’s very obscure and hidden. Too many people don’t drill down to the whys because they think like a stoning mob and enjoy judging and punishing
@MrJohnNicolson@macmillan_moira@theSNP I do think he mist have issues . One weird thing I recall in the early days in the investigation is Peter loaded the SNP approximately the same amount as the value of the caravan. That doesn’t seem thd actions of a rational crook.
@omgsidewalks in terms of hours put in, even the worst workaholic only could possible work double the hours or they’d drop dead. Being awarded 1000 times the wages for only double the hours is a bit much. It’s skill in manipulating the situation that makes a lot of wealth. And being obsessed
@omgsidewalks wealth is in many cases more about cunning, instinct, the sheer obsessive craving for status and money. In the end in many cases it’s just positioning yourself to cream off vastly more money than your hours could ever justify. Exception to this are inventers/creatives
@Free_to_leave@Indynow6 there have been a couple of wealthy celebs caught shop lifting too wasn’t there? Again no rational reason. Just compulsive thrill seeking
