BREAKING: President Trump’s tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada have officially taken effect as of Midnight Tuesday morning.

U.S. imports from China will be subject to a new 10% tariff on top of the initial 10% tariff he imposed on Chinese goods last month.

Canada and Mexico will have a 25% tariff levied on imported goods with a carve-out for a lower 10% tariff on Canadian oil imports.

The NNSA employs approximately 3,000 personnel, meaning this figure represents less than 2% of its workforce, hardly a mass purge or threat to national security.

The discrepancy—300 versus under 50—appears to stem from initial speculation following a broader Trump administration directive targeting federal staff, later clarified by the DOE. The agency emphasized that core missions, including stockpile management and non-proliferation, remain unaffected. This isn’t conjecture; it’s the DOE’s direct rebuttal to sensationalism.

Factual integrity demands scrutiny of primary sources over rumor. While the DOE has yet to release an official press bulletin as of February 18, 2025, its consistent statements to reputable outlets suffice to debunk the myth. Precision matters—especially on matters of national security.
