Consoles have a simple, nostalgic and somewhat ritualistic aspect to them which impacts the way people experience gaming. It’s also more versatile and accessible to the majority of people. The reason to buy a console is for exclusives, physical media of course, and being able to turn on the tv, throw in a game and play. Its what people are used to and appreciate which is of course why there is outrage because Playstation is massively disrupting the ritual.
