As someone totally brand new to the Resident Evil franchise, what do you recommend? Which games are your favorite? I heard the movies are mainly misses. But I know this new one is pretty standalone.
Every year I miss the wave of trending topics for my YouTube videos! So seasonal topics like Halloween, holidays, etc.
I’m getting ahead this year and focusing on a Resident Evil score video hopefully for next week and then a Halloween theme video as well for early October.
Big news!!
I’ve changed the brand name from Robert Rodriguez Music to Film Scores Explored!
Over the past year or so, I’ve focused my content on discussing/breaking down the scores that I love and get excited by.
As much as I’d love for my name to carry the content forward, I’m fighting an uphill battle against the director/musician of the same name 😅
I’ve never felt more confident in the direction of the channel and Film Scores Explored captures the adventure and fun of film music!
Unfortunately since Twitter only allows for 15 characters in a handle, this is the only place you’ll see me as @ScoresExplored
Things are looking good so far!! I know it’s way too early to tell the performance of this video and I honestly shouldn’t even look at the analytics this often.
But I just love this video so much and I’m excited and I hope it finds its audience! 😌
Let’s keep it up!!
Friends!! My Spider-Man Brand New Day video is FINALLY out!
This was such a passion project. Not only is Spider-Man my favorite superhero, but Michael Giacchino is my favorite composer! So this video means the world to me!
I’ve been planning this thing for a month. I recorded and re-recorded, had technical issues, hired my first editor… even though it’s later than I would have originally wanted, I think the outcome is totally worth the wait.
Definitely check it out and share 🥹

On to the Incredible Hulk as part of my MCU rewatch.
Film definitely takes itself too seriously but I always enjoyed it. Plus Craig Armstrong’s score was stellar and the best representation of Bruce and the Hulk.
That main title track and Bruce/Betty’s love theme are great!
Side note: And I know this isn’t intentional and really have nothing to do with one another but listen to the “Hulk Theme” track and then listen to the “Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O’Hara)” theme from Across the Spider-verse! Similar vibes
Just caught up with that Lanterns premiere and 😮💨
I’m ALL in! I didn’t really know what to expect but it’s a great combination of mystery, humor, and drama! What a way to start off
Starting 8/24, views will count the moment a video begins to play (w/ no minimum watch time) across all formats (VOD, Shorts, & Live). We’re standardizing views to reflect creators’ true exposure across YouTube, making it easier to show their value to brand partners.
This update won't impact creator earnings or YPP eligibility.

After my third watchthrough of Spider-Man Brand New Day, I feel like I have a solid grasp of the score!
Interesting things to point out that won’t be in my breakdown video (because the video focused more on the theme and not the full score track by track)….
BUT I think ██████ theme was incorporated into the responsibility theme (I need to work it out on the piano). I was right that there’s a theme in the suite that’s not in the movie. Also the synth at the end feels like the city ambiance from a distance- perfect for that cityscape shot!!
I also think this suite is so different from the past 3. Normally, Giacchino will do a suite of existing themes. This time, he really just focused on Spider-Man and developed music that wasn’t in the movie as much. I have theories as to WHY he made that decision!
UPDATE: I double checked and ██████ theme is not directly integrated into the responsibility theme BUT I have a LOT of thoughts on this responsibility theme variation!
Might do another video or maybe discuss in the newsletter!
Brand New Day was one of the best Marvel movies we've had, period.
So many thoughts. So many emotions.
I've never felt more connected to Peter Parker. This film is a love letter to the comics that made Spider-Man an icon.
How do you top the epic multiverse scale of No Way Home?
You go inward. You focus on the man underneath the mask.
I want to see Destin Daniel Cretton take the Spidey reigns for the foreseeable future because he truly understands how to deliver this character.
Michael Giacchino's score is impeccable. I wasn't sure how he'd handle a 4th score for Spider-Man and he absolutely nailed it. It's rare to have a single composer take on a single character over 4 films but now Tom Holland's Spider-Man is synonymous with Giacchino's music to me.
There were some minor things that stuck out to me that didn't land. But in no way do they take away from the absolute joy I felt watching this movie.
I'm itching to go back and rewatch! I was lucky enough to have this be my first Dolby Cinema experience and it didn't disappoint. The immersion was phenomenal!
I will need some time to really see how it fits in my ranking for live-action Spider-Man films but as of right now, it's number one.
It's not just a comic book brought to life.
It's the heart of what makes Spider-Man so great brought to the big screen.
