We were very fortunate to have associated with @dustylitster. He was so supportive of our son, this interview below was one of Dusty's last. We are grateful for him and his unwavering dedication to HS athletes here in Utah.

Football is an incredible experience for young men in the laboratory of life. However, it doesn’t come close to the power and growth obtained through helping others Come Unto Christ. I am so proud of @JStevens_11 and his efforts in Colombia 🇨🇴!

“At just eight years old, I arrived in America, grateful for the chance to build a new life after fleeing our home in Germany following World War II. My parents decided to leave because they never wanted their children to endure the trials of war again. Little did I know that I would soon face my own battles.
“As a young man, I was drafted to serve in Vietnam. Nothing could have prepared me for the darkest night of my service. My squad was trapped in a monsoon and had to set up camp near enemy territory. We were isolated, with little protection, and hungry. Amidst the chaos and fear, I collapsed in despair, asking Heavenly Father, ‘Why am I here? Why me?’ In that moment of desperation, the song ‘Count Your Blessings’ filled my mind.
“It was hard to count my blessings at a time like that, but I trusted the Lord’s guidance and began counting. I remember the exact order of the things I was grateful for—‘I am alive, I am a child of God, and I am not, and will never be, alone.’
“After my time in Vietnam, I married my sweetheart, and we began to build our family together. However, our lives were shattered one tragic night when we lost our beautiful daughter in a car accident at just 15 years old.
“The hardship and misery I once felt in Vietnam, thinking it was the worst it could get, did not compare to the pain and despair I experienced when she preceded us. In those desperate moments, I held on to the truth I gained during my military service: ‘Count your blessings—you are not alone.’
“I took comfort in knowing our daughter was in loving, heavenly hands. She is up there now—preparing for us to join her one day. That thought has given me comfort amidst heartache.
“I’ve learned that blessings are not usually material; they are often the eternal and lasting relationships we have with our loved ones and God.
“As I reflect on my life, I find immense comfort in the knowledge that nothing can sever the bond of family, not even death. I am reassured in my faith that I will be reunited with my daughter again because of Jesus Christ. No matter how bad the situation is, there will always be a blessing to count in gratitude.” —Wynn
@TylerNewbold We live in Fruit Heights and my son played for Skyridge. We will do it again in a heartbeat. The teams up north will never actually compete for a championship. Too little size on the lines.
