The opening day of the GB & I 4 Nations has arrived, with a full day of Masters international hockey ahead in Aberdeen.
Good luck to all players, coaches, officials and volunteers involved โ letโs make it a brilliant weekend of hockey. ๐

Lil McNab scored the 5th from a second phase PC in the third. The LX tried to rally in the final quarter but goalkeeper Sheila Reid thwarted their every attempt โฆ another sterling team effort ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐๐
The W65โs played the LX Ladies in todayโs match and Captain Ali MacFarlane set them up with 2 goals from penalty corners early on. Mo OโNeill-Fawcett scored her first two goals of the tournament in the space of 1 minute taking the score to 4-0 by half time.
11 (eleven) goals for Bobby Ralph, with Andrew McArthur (4), Craig Hilton (3), Murray Paton (2), Mike Forbes (1), and Cammy Scott (1) getting the rest.
M40 ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ 22-1 ๐ง๐ฉ Bangladesh
Going 1-0 up in the first 20 seconds set the tone for the rest of the game. A very professional performance to secure 2nd place in their group and a semi final vs Germany on Monday.
Man of the Match was Bobby Ralph.
Scotland W65s started the Euro campaign with a narrow victory 2-1 over Wales. A first quarter goal by Lee Edmonds Ward and a last quarter goal by Pat Lindsay secured the victory. Scotland played a lot of slick passing hockey and now look forward to tomorrows match v Netherlands.
It's all getting real now ๐ Our squads enjoyed the opening ceremony Nottingham Hockey Centre this evening.

Well done to our awesome keepers LB & Chantal, who were joint winners against England ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Emma T scooped the award against Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช and Alice impressed against Wales ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ
The Coach's award was newbie Emma Thomson.
As well as 5 Scotland Masters Squads taking part in this week's European Championships, the Scottish Thistles will be representing Scotland in the Spirit of Masters Tournament in the M55s & M60s age groups.

Congratulations to England - who finished on top in every age category this weekend in Glasgow. Play was of a very high standard, with goals of real quality and some excellent hockey on display.

...The Scots had to wait to Q4 to level through a PC and it was game on, but England again got the late breakthrough to steal the points.
Overall a solid weekend - the 6-2 win over Wales on Saturday - the highlight.

A Wendy MacIntyre goal on the 47-minute mark set things up for a nail-biting finish in the last game of the 4 Nations.
Both teams wanted the win, and the visitors were kept out until just before half-time, when they scored from open play...

W40 v Wales
Scotland W40s rounded off their 4 Nations campaign with a tough 2-0 defeat to a well-drilled Wales side.
Despite a spirited and unified team performance, the Welsh scored in each half to win 2-0.
