The small(ish) hill of Ceapabhal in south west Harris has one of the biggest views of any hill Iโve been on for ages. As well as pristine white beaches, St Kilda was crystal clear from the summit.
The big deal with Fisherfield is getting THAT view. A different take from Aโ Mhaighdean on Sunday afternoon. It has to be the best view in Scotland. Needs a click!

Lonely Kilnave Chapel, close to Loch Gruinart on the north side of the Isle of Islay, and its weather-worn 1300-year-old cross. The chapel was the site of an atrocity committed during the Battle of Traigh Ghruinneart in 1598. More pics and info: https://t.co/mlZo8qH8iq
Sunday night bivvy at the summit of Ruadh Stac Mor in Fisherfield. Iโd had a great day traversing the big horseshoe of hills. Eventually the upper layer of cloud dispersed to reveal a million stars above me. Dawn came quickly with all her beauty.

#OnThisDay in 1822, royal focus returned to the castle as King George IV made a triumphant visit to the castle. This saw a reconciliation between the Scots and the Hanoverian monarchy. He was the first reigning monarch to do so since 1650.

11pm light over Ben Nevis, Mamores and Aonach Eagach on Summer solstice from Aonoch Dubh in Glencoe. Bonus of latitude - 18 hours sunlight! (flipside: 7 hours in winter equivalent). Plan to catch 4:20am sunrise scuppered by cloud and sleep...
